Are You Serious!? I Made $8!
Yup, I was pumped when I made my first affiliate sale. This was back in 2014, and I just realized I didn't blog about it to share my success with other WA members. Making $8 was a big success, because it showed that I can make money online. That was my first time to ever make money online. You must be curious to know how long it took me to make that money.
Are you ready for this? It took me 6 months, yes you read it right. I wasn't even working full speed the whole 6 months. I started slacking after 4 months because I didn't see the instant success I wanted. What can I say, it's human nature right? I actually stopped writing content after 4 months or so, and a sale still came in.
So that made me realized that it does work, it just takes time. So did I continue? If you read my profile, you know I didn't. I actually left a few months after that, because a friend talked me into other business opportunity he saw in FB. It was easy money, you don't have to put in any work and money will just start raining on you kind of crap.
It went on for a few months which led to another, and another, well, you know how the song goes. That's why we're all here in WA, cause we've seen enough crap. Fast forward to 2015, so I actually came back after being away from WA for a year. After being back for about 2 months, I did the black Friday sale and did the yearly. I figured I'm committed now and I can't mess around.
Well guess what? I made my first $8 sale again after rejoining WA. You know how long it took me this time? It took me 5 months, one whole month faster compared to my first time around. You have to realize it takes time for your site to start getting traction. The difference this time is that I kept going, I did slow down the last 4 months and I'm kicking my behind.
Oh yeah, I did continue to make more sales after that. So I am back for good this time around. WA really does teach you how to get traffic and how affiliate marketing works. It's a learning process, and the more time you put into it, the better you get. Trying to make money online is not easy period. Why do you think the failure rate is so high. We all got sucked in to all the hype out there at least once, and it does become an expensive lesson.
When people comment on my site and give me crap that I'm just promoting WA, it's because I'm proud of what I accomplished here. I promote it because it taught me a lot of stuff I never knew before. If they found my site just from Google, that means I'm doing something right.
So now I can promote other programs that I believe in, which I'm also an affiliate of. Kyle mentioned in his training to never leave money on the table. So if you do a review on something, and they have an affiliate program, you might want to sign up. On the other hand, if you believe that the program is full of you know what, you might not want to be associated with it.

Thanks so much for this June! I'm glad to see that you reinforce the fact that this is not a get rich quick scheme and that it does take some time. It gives me a sense of relief because I've been getting frustrated at how long it's been taking. Congratulations on getting more sales and I hope you continue to see the results of your hard work.
I'm glad it helped Shawn, this is a pretty tough industry. What I learned from being around if for awhile, is that it becomes sell or be sold business. Just like Grant Cardone's book. There's a lot of people out there that fake it till they make it. As long as you find something that you believe in, stick with it, being that it's legit of course. Thank you for your reality blog, many people are swimming in the same water as you are. In the Olympics, M. Phelps did not sit on his swimming pool bench in Baltimore to get all the medals he has gotten through the years, he worked hard everyday. I appreciate your advice.
I believe Phelps actually practices everyday, I don't think he has an off day. That's why he has the amount of medals that he does. Thank for reading.

Thank you, June! This was an inspiring post. I joined WA not so long ago, but became a premium member today. With school and my full time job is hard to make time, but you inspired me to go for it and stop procrastinating.
It can be tough and you really just have to find a balance. I have a full time job and 3 kids. At the same time trying to grow another business. Rushing it can get frustrating at times especially when you don't see results right away. Just be consistent and try not to overwhelm yourself. Let me know if you need help with anything.
