Summer Camp Life
So I have been at camp since June 2nd with app 12 hours off, not counting drive time, every Saturday! This is the first chance I've had to get on here and type anything and I am certain it will take me a couple visits to get it done! As the Camp Health Officer I stay pretty busy from 6:30 am till midnight most days. Sunburn, heat exhaustion, dehydration, insect bites, heat rash, chaffing, poison oak /ivy, knife injuries, spider bites, minor trauma, head injuries ( i swear these older boys play rough out there! ) tick removal, general illnesses, home sickness, diabetic emergencies and even one non-poisonous snake bite! Could have been worse! And those things are around regular med pass! With 300 plus scouts and their leaders, that makes for a busy day! Aside from all of that, I enjoy very much being here and seeing all the scouts earning their merit badges and enjoying the fun programs that are offered!
What Else Would I Do?
Hang out at home doing the usual...laundry, yard work, housework, babysit etc...which is ok but there is no other experience like summer camp! I can't attend to my WA very much but I am doing a good thing by being here and helping people. The camp songs and skits are hilarious and the staff I work with are exemplary! Despite the lack of sleep, I am enjoying my summer so far. The biggest down side is missing my husband, son and grandbaby! Having my daughter on staff is nice and my oldest son posts pics of my grandbaby via Facebook every day! I can walk by real quick and see his sweet face in my travels between from one side of the building to the other!The weird thing, is that I can see the posts and pics on my phone, but I can't send anything. No cell service but I get WiFi. Maybe I am doing something wrong...I am still not the most technology literate. I hope everyone is having a good time on WA learning and building. It has only been close to a month since I have posted anything but it feels like a year! Honestly, since the first paragraph of this post, I have typed a few words here and there, over several days, up to this point. Duty calls after all, so I just wanted to say hello to everyone! I am going to quit while I am ahead and hope to visit again soon!

Hello Julesdi if it camp or something else, we all have volenteer work to do. In my case it's Lions or the Legion tonight it's the legion, I'll be given way 1000.00 for learned student from our Poppy fund. I run the
Poppy Fund so I have be there. I just wanted say Julesdi we all have work around it, and sometimes W/A has to take back seat in our life's.
Great! I did time as a Cub Scout Pack Leader, day camps, Weblos camp, bugs, hikes, peer pressure, and the inevitable hunt for Big Foot. It is a lot of work, but well worth it and memories that cannot be
replaced.
