Affiliate Marketing - Your own Products
This is an important subject to address as a lot of people charge into affiliate marketing thinking it is an easy entry into the Internet Marketplace, and it’s not so easy.
Selling other people’s products has a lot of pitfalls as you can read in the following paragraphs.
First of all, nothing beats having your own products to sell on the Internet.
Even super affiliates have their own products, which is WHY they are super affiliates in the first place!
It's seems like a great idea to be an affiliate and sell a product that's not your own, it appears easy, but it’s not.
You usually make something like 50%- 75% of an affiliate sale, and sometimes less depending on the product owners desire to entice you to work for them.
The problem you will face is trying to sell affiliate products without having your own list, it is very difficult!!!
And building a list only from affiliate sales is a lot of hard work and time consuming.
With affiliate marketing you work hard to find and attract customers to a product, and then you give them away to the owner of the product, and they build their list –“WHAT”- you might say…!!!
That is why product owners have affiliate programs, they love affiliates.
This is really time consuming for little reward when you could be spending a lot of this time creating your own product instead.
The only way to be successful with Affiliate Marketing is to build a list, a method to do this could be to offer giveaways which are usually PLR products, also made by someone else, to people who buy the original product through your affiliate link, and then produce a receipt to get their giveaway products... it’s a big merry-go-round and again time consuming.
Affiliates must use their affiliate link to be able to cash in on the affiliate payment, however people are usually reluctant to click directly from an affiliate link, so the affiliate tries to disguise the link by shortening or pretty links etc. These days there are legal implications because you should not deceive people into buying products, and a disclosure is required on your site that you are potentially making money from the links on your site.
With super affiliates they will likely offer products of their own as incentives to entice people to sign up for products they are promoting. When they have their list they still usually offer incentives to get people to buy, it’s a tough business,
With your own product you receive 100% of the revenue from that product that you sell yourself. You have ownership and dictate the terms and can attract affiliates of your own to sell YOUR product. And you get a portion of all affiliate sales as well.
The major bonus to this is that you build your list quickly.
So think about developing your own product, it is the best way to succeed on the internet.

Hello John, what sort of product would I develop? I am a bit stuck on that?
Hard to answer as I do not know your circumstances, you ask what can I develop as a product, well there are many options such as:
Writing about you experiences
Write reports
Write articles
Write an eBook
Make training programs
Produce training videos
Sell physical products
Sell digital products
Start a membership site
There are so many options it really depends on your knowledge and experience on any subject.
And probably above all, develop something that you are passionate about.
Can you write an eBook, give it a try, you might surprise yourself.
John
