The link is from 2013 so kind of out of date so to speak but it's a lot simpler to understand than a lot of other stuff out there.
I learnt that google is always updating its ranking procedures so checking up once or twice a month is important. My bad if this seems irrelevant to most but it caught my interest and lead me on a bit of a path down the SEO rabbit hole, maybe it will do the same for you.
