Who's seen Kes?

Ken Loach turned the book "A Kestrel for Knave" into the film Kes. But who was the author of A Kestrel for a Knave?
The answer is Barry Hines and he has died aged 76.
For those that haven't seen the film, it's about a young boy who escapes his troubled school life by training a kestrel. The book, written in 1968, was adapted for the highly-acclaimed Ken Loach film Kes, which was ranked seventh in the British Film Institute's top 10 British films.
It's a very poignant film and shows the value of perserverance.
I recommend you see Ken Loach's film, Kes as it is one of the classics.
