"Imagine a new story for your life and start living it. -- Paulo Coelho

As a child, I have been asked these questions which I believe are very much familiar to all of us:

"What do you want to be in the future?"
"What is your dream?"
"Who do you want to be when you grow up?"

I wonder why is it too easy to answer those questions way back then. I can jump from wanting to be a soldier, a teacher, a designer, a businesswoman to becoming a nun and so on and so forth.

There might be a reason why children are often asked about their dreams. For children, dreaming is as simple as listening to what their hearts wanted at that very moment. There is no "what if..." or "It's impossible!"

As we grow older and older, dreaming becomes complicated. My dream will always be at the back of this mighty wall made out of my own fears, insecurities and doubts. At times, it could be my lack of confidence in the real value of my dream.

I've been to many crossroads and dead-ends in my journey. It is not just once that I had to make a total U-TURN and begin again from my starting point.

There are "small and bigger goals" that had been accomplished, as well as "failures and discouragement" along the way. And these are things that I am grateful about beyond what I can fully expressed.

Looking back, I realized that there is something I might have been missing. In all the roads I travelled until now, there is this particular dream that I tend to set aside and yet continue to accompany me wherever I go.

I tend to take it for granted because it has been with me since I was able to scribble letters with my hand. It is easy to take it for granted because doing just this becomes so ordinary and ended up to be at the top of my hobbies.

Turning your hobby into something that might become your bread and butter is something that I have been contemplating before but never had the courage to really explore. Can I really turn my "ME time" to be at the same time my "OFFICE time"? It's just like playing while working, right? I never thought it is possible...

But after joining Wealthy Affiliate, I am seeing this dream slowly unfolding right before my eyes. I am actually doing it now and I can't believe I am finally here.

Thanks to my WA Family😄😃

Hey, at least you never wanted to be an alligator when you grew up. When my youngest was very little, that's what he wanted to be. We don't let him forget it either. 🤣

You're very lucky to still be young and find your calling. You've been doing a great job and I think you'll be very successful.

Thank you for these encouraging words. I am very happy that I am given this opportunity to realize my dream.

I wonder what your son turned out to be😅😂🤣...

To be honest, that one is still kind of floundering. He's my only one that did NOT want to go to college so he works in construction and he's very good at it but it's a young man's job and he's no longer young so he has some decisions to make.....and alligator is not an option. 🤣

Happy to hear that about the “alligator” thing😂🤣.

My mother used to tell me the same words, “I am not getting younger.” She is not happy about me wandering around, doing things that won’t secure my future. The reason why I am so happy to be in here. WA gives me this opportunity to do what I truly love to do and hopefully secure my future.

Hope your son would find what he truly wanted in life.

You'll be fine. It's a mom's job to worry. Your mom is probably my son's age. I have a granddaughter about your age. You're doing great here. Tell her your WA grandmother said for her not to worry. 😊

Love hearing that from you. It makes me feel at peace with the path I am choosing. Thanks a lot☺️

Awesome, Joy!

Jeff

Thanks😃

You're welcome, Joy!

Excellent post.

Thanks😄

We all have our dreams, our stories. but how much of our dreams sync with our stories? We can always go back to sleep and dream again...and again...and again...and make sure this time we drive the realisation...

Right. Dreams are meant to be fulfilled. So let’s continue working for it.

Our dreams are important and we should not take them for granted nor forget about them. They are what keeps us going when times get tuff.
Thank you for sharing and hope you suceed in all you do here.

Thanks. Let us continue dreaming and working towards achieving it.
