Trouble: Amazon Affiliate Login!
Just A Bit Of Login Headache With Amazon
This is a survey of any WA members having issues logging in to Amazon Affiliate using the following web address: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/ . For some weird reason I am unable to login. It is a pain since I have most of my products in two websites and about 15 to 20 articles total using Amazon products.
There Has NOT Been Any Letters or Notices Telling Me I Have Lost My Affiliate Account
The Amazon Affiliate website cited above continues to allow me to change my password using my email address. But upon approval of the password change, my next login gets a response that no such email is connected to an affiliate account which is weird.
800 Customer Service Calls Are Still Out Due To Covid!
So I tried calling them on their 800 number that I used before. Nada. Amazon recording says that due to Covid, they are unable to respond to these calls. Covid has decimated their customer service reps numbers I suppose.
So I Send An Email To Customer Service
Amazon has an email service where you fill out this form. Fill out the info and send it out. Then there is an automated message that you get that says that these email services are also affected by Covid! The email service is temporarily out.
I Am Betting That Everything Will Work If I Ordered Something And Used My Credit Card!
So the reason for this short little rant is to see if you are experiencing anything similar with Amazon and perhaps you have figured it out. Perhaps there is a system-wide issue plaguing the online retail giant. Or it could be that Jeff B is going through a midlife crisis and he and his team are unable to keep up with their websites.

I do not mind problems but when problems seem ridiculous and stupid, it gets frustrating. Hope this is just a passing thing and will soon go away.

Hi - have you met your sales target of 3 sales in 180 days? If not, then your account is removed, but you should receive a warning email.
There has been no notifications re removal of my account. Could be that I have not met their target of 3 sales.

They still have chat. I tried to call about a defective item and recording said nobody home. I resolved the problem in the chat window.
Amazon is bound and determined to become the TG&Y of online. You don't know what that is? That's what I mean, they're gone.
With the way they are performing, you are right, they could become a 'goner' as well.

So, you are referring to their affiliate program? I think I am in the minority here at WA but, somehow, I don't think this signals the collapse of Amazon. I truly feel sorry for anyone who has built there affiliate business around Amazon but do you really think Jeff Bezos took this step without carefully analyzing the possible fallout? He has clearly recognized that affiliate marketing is no longer necessary for his business and is ready to move on.
He didn't get to be the richest man in the world by being stupid. That only worked for Forrest Gump.
Agreed. I think the Amazon Affiliate's days are numbered. I have to say that when we first joined WA I was actually amazed that Amazon even had an affiliate program. I don't think they needed us then and they certainly don't need us now.
But he's taken a pee on affiliate marketers. They made him, not the other way around. Sell Amazon Short.

Update on Amazon Affiliate account issue. I have since re-joined Amazon Affiliate with a totally new info and apart from my old account info.
This means I have to re-do all of my old links on my websites with Amazon links since the old account is no longer active.
NO NOTICES, EMAILS, LETTERS from Amazon telling me why and how my old account 'died'.

Hi - as I suggested previously, you probably didn't meet the 3 sales in 180 days target. You then get locked out and have to create a new ID and replace all your links.
Is it my understanding that if you did not meet the 3 sales, your account is dead and there will be NO notifications from Amazon?

Hi - yes, your account is terminated if you don't meet the target. However, you should get an email to notify you when it happens.
To be honest, even if you had received notification, the process would still be the same. You have to create a new account with a new ID and replace all your links.
