A Bit Of Gratitude Goes A Long Way

I tossed up all day as to whether I should write this post.

I don't want to come across as a 'whinger' or a 'sook'.

But I think this needs to be said.

I have been working hard over the last few days, reading as many posts as possible, giving as many post comments as possible, so as I can earn a few dollars to help me pay my premium fee next month.

As we all know, we must keep ourselves within the range of statistics to qualify - over 80% of my comments must be approved in order to qualify.

And so I take this seriously.

I read posts that I both love, and some that I find incredibly tedious. But regardless of how tedious and boring I find some articles, I read it with interest and I spend a good amount of time to write a comment for people's pages that is both positive and constructive.

Because I am aware that even though I don't like something, it doesn't make it horrible.

It just means that it's not my taste.

Anyway, last night I wrote a comment for a post that I had found ridiculously boring for my tastes... and because I found it so boring, it took me a lot of time to come up with something positive that someone would be proud to have written up on their site.

This morning I woke up to find that my comment was disapproved.

DISAPPROVED!

I spent so long really contemplating what I could come up with to help someone else out, despite not enjoying what I read, and he disapproved my comment.

The thing I found frustrating was his response:

"I liked the comment, to be honest, but it sounded too much like past comments. I just need more variety."

The simple fact is this:

My job doing this comments is to read your blog post - not other people's comments.

Particularly this post which had 104 comments!!

My stats were penalised even though he liked the comment!

Someone penalised me despite liking the comment I made.

I actually find this super rude.

For a small article that had 104 comments on it, it's actually not surprising that some of the comments overlapped!

My comment was approved as being unique content and I had laboured over how to write something positive, and I receive no gratitude.

I'm no website master as yet - but I would've imagined that any comment, regardless of being similar to what may have been written by other people, is still going to attract more traffic to the page.

So why penalise me purely because I didn't write what you wanted me to write?

Where is the gratitude?

So come on guys, this is a pay it forward website!

So if someone makes an effort to help you out and leave you a comment, be a little decent and help them out too.

It's fair to disapprove a post that was obviously written with no regard for the article, but not when it simply doesn't say what you were hoping it would.

Share with gratitude, and help each other as they are trying to help you.
