Milestone!

One month ago today (August 8th, 2013), I became a Starter Member of Wealthy Affiliate (WA). At the time, I was still somewhat unsure about what I was getting myself into but had already done as much research as I could from outside of WA. As a result, I was satisfied that I had nothing to lose as a Starter Member, so the next step was obvious — join for free and check things out as a member.

I spent the next several days “investigating” WA from the inside — “kicking the tires”, so to speak. I learned enough in those few days and became comfortable enough with WA to take the next step; and so I became a Premium Member. Of course, the 59% first-month saving-incentive helped me to reach that decision.

Since that beginning, I have made more progress than I initially would have imagined. In fact, I have learned more useful information in that short time about earning an income online than I have in my previous 59 years, 11 months, and 2 days of existence. The most important lessons include coming to an understanding that my success will depend on consistent, organized, and long-term efforts — by ME; ensuring that I develop and maintain the proper mindset that leads to success; and realizing that WA is the perfect vehicle for achieving that success.

I have done my best to become an active member of this vibrant, productive community by: interacting with other members, asking questions when needed, helping others when able, writing blog entries when I have something to say, and have even written my first training tutorial (just found out that it made the “top ten” for yesterday). I have published my first website (although it is far from finished) and am learning how to manage it. Finally, I am learning new things every day. These are major accomplishments for me and I feel a tremendous sense of pride from having achieved them.

As I look back on my first month at WA, I ask myself, “Where will I be in another month?” “What about six months from now?” “One year?” Well, I hope to be well on my way to earning a full-time income online. After all, that is why I am here. I realize that I still have a long, hard struggle ahead of me — nothing worthwhile comes without a price.

Am I willing to pay that price? That remains to be seen; however, I know that I will succeed so long as I do not quit. I am ready for the next milestone.
