The New Year's Resolution Breakdown

Before you stop reading this article

knowing that following a resolution isn't that difficult if you don't know the proper steps. A lot of people don't stick to a new way of doing things for a very good reason

giving up is really easy to do growing up. So, let me walk you through the steps in following a resolution so you can start a different path for yourself, and feel good about it instead of feeling ashamed of not doing it properly.

As we go through these steps, imagine a little baby trying to walk for the very first time. Keep that image in the back of your head. Still, with me? Good!, Because it means you're still on the right track already

Training your mind like a track takes time, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. Focusing all of your attention is hard to do (many studies have been done on this subject).

Just remember that everyone goes through it, and a lot of people are struggling with it, so here we go:

Take baby steps for a while. Work on a small part of your resolution, for example, if you'd like to lose some weight, slowly get off one food first; or eat smaller amounts.

But if you fly off the handle, punish yourself, do something that embarrasses you while you think about how you lost control at that moment. Sounds crazy but it's much better than falling down (like a baby) and not getting back up

As you lay down at night (especially morning times), focus again, but this time think about why you flew off the handle, and WHAT YOU DID RIGHT BEFORE YOU FLEW OFF. What were you thinking? Habits are hard to break, but if you can recognize the state you were in when you did those habitual things...you're much more likely not to do them as often.

\

Repetition is an interesting word. But repetition is what we do every day, so focus on how often you do one thing, but also focus on how many times you don't do that

one thing, Remember, if you want to change, start with baby steps. That's why repetition is so important for your resolution!

The blame game is such a loaded topic, and it's so easy to blame others; but I am not talking about blaming others. I'm talking about BLAMING YOURSELF: blaming and feeling ashamed of your results and of your effort in starting something new. But you know what? NO ONE KNOWS YOU WANT TO CHANGE, EXCEPT YO

Please re-read that last sentence again.

If no one knows about your effort to change, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Feeling ashamed is a destructive trait...and one I could lecture on for hours, I'd rather not have anyone be ashamed of trying to improve their lives, would you?

If and when you do decide to change something in your life, and when you start to improve it and not be ashamed about it, then you can tell other people

BUT ONLY WHEN YOU'RE COMFORTABLE ENOUGH NOT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOUR SETBACKS

Letting a supportive person knowing about the change will make you feel more powerful in the effort...and if they're a good friend, most people will encourage change

But, I must warn you ..IF THEY DON'T ENCOURAGE IT, OR IF THEY MAKE FUN OF IT...then you have to start over again with the change. I find that people who put others down do it in a form of humor. COMPLETELY BACKWARD...isn't it?

Feeling like you're going backwards in time

So as you can see, that's just the beginning, everyone has a ton of beginnings and endings in their lives; and most people live their lives day by day with the same pattern. But the question is: HOW MANY BEGINNINGS DO YOU WANT TO HAVE? Starting new is the best adventure you can do

How Many beginnings and Ends do you want to have to change habits
