The Creative Process

Looking Back on how from I've within the marketing business (Yes I have come a long way, but I'm not even remotely close to where I need to be.) I have had many successes and many failures. I swore many times that I was done with this or that never to return

I even told my best friend and biggest supporter, that I would never return to the world of internet marketing because it was the biggest waste of time in the world. I was seriously done forever. This last time was back in November of last year.

I completely walked away from it all for many months. Closed down or ignored virtually all my social media accounts, got an old school flip phone without any internet access so I wouldn't be bothered. I was done. I just didn't have it in me to do it anymore. I was beginning to hate something that I truly love and have a p[passion for.

Fast forward to this February I was loving life again and feeling really good about my decision to walk away from internet marketing. My best friend and biggest supporter of my dream to become a successful marketer had been oddly silent about my decision to pack it in until one day he just called me out of the blue and asked me for a favor.

So being me and caring about my friend as I do I said sure what do you need. He stated simply in his laid back way I want you to not give up on your dream.

This kind of caught me by surprise at first. As I said I was just getting comfortable being out of the marketing game and now here was this guy I trusted like a brother even more so in some ways, asking me to do the one thing I was not sure ei wanted to do ever again. I however, could hear the sincerity in his voice and begrudgingly agreed to give it just one more shot and that was it if it didn't work out this would be the last I we would ever speak of it.

As I hung up the phone that fateful afternoon my first thought was to find some sort of reasonable excuse to back out of our agreement. Just still wasn't sure if this was what I wanted. After a few days I decided to just go part-time two hours every other day or so. That I could live with. No more twelve hour days for me. Where to start though was a big concern I had tried so many different programs, been scammed by some had some success with others and so on.

The answer came to me. If this was going to be my last shot at becoming a successful marketer then why don't I go back to where it all started at wealthy Affiliate. which, is exactly what I did. This time However I decided that I would not sign up for random webinars or get on someones list because they had a really cool lead magnet. What I was going to do was follow the training listen to Jay, Kyle's training each week and most importantly get involved in the community.

Since coming back to WA and approaching things with a can do this success mindset things have gone quite a bit differently than my first time around. Being involved with the community has helped to see that I am learning and growing and that I have a ton of information and value to offer to those who are just starting out on their journey. I so love getting responses from people I've helped. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy like a bunny so to speak.

Anyways I cut out so many distractions from my life and strictly have been following through on the training that we have here in the entrepreneur certification. I haven't gotten my first blog post up yet like I thought I would but that was a personal choice.

I know the current lesson says to start posting articles but my heart says to wait until the site is fleshed out and ready to go so that is what I'm doing ATM. If this is truly my last time going for the dream I'm going to make it count and follow my heart until the bitter end if need be. I just know that I am going to get nowhere If I don't trust in my creative process as well as the lessons.

Don't get me wrong I believe in doing the lessons whole heartedly but I'm pouring everything I'ved learned about word press, blogging and affiliate marketing over the lastly almost 2 years of doing this (june 1 2022, will officially be 2 years.) to see if I can make it happen. And it's starting to be amazing. I feel different this time around it is showing in a positive way big time. I'll get ranked when I get ranked and the money will be there when it's there. The creative process and getting a front row seat to this amazing thing that I am creating is what makes it all worthwhile.

Right now my website is what I would say is the best site I've ever created. It is the culmination of two years of learning and hard work. While I have an affiliate product page listed with product links ready to go it is not about the money or even making money at this point. For me the metric will be when traffic does start rolling in to my site I want it to be fully functional and ready to go of course, but my main interest and what for me determines success is the blog.

Are people spending time reading my words and most importantly are they enjoying what I wrote and engaging. You see that what it is all about. My visitors can click through all the link they want, but if no one is reading or engaging with my what I've written then I've got nothing.

So that is why I am sort of building my site out a little differently because when I'm ready for the traffic the only thing I want to have to focus on is my writing which I plan to be a mixture of fictional star wars inspired pieces as well as articles that really help people in my niche with what ever they are most in need of. Right now however, I could not be more proud of what I have created.

Heck I didn't even know I was capable of doing what I've done so far. The Best part of it is that as I go to through the rest of the training I will be learning all kinds of techniques that and tips that I can use to make it even bigger and better.

Jeff,
Even though I told my best friend over the phone that I would give it another I seriously wasn't sure if I was going to or not.

I am so glad that I decided to give it another shot though. Everything feels different this time around. I'm focused in on helping people, I'm not stressing over commissions or getting indexed or anything really.

I just doing what I need to for my site and letting it go where it wants to go. I figure if I just do the work and don't worry about the rest I'll be much happier.

Besides that other stuff will take care of itself when the time is right and I got to many community friends to help out to be worry about things that don't matter that much atm.

Janine,
I always exp[lain to people who ask me about how to get started chasing down their dream that there are really only Three fundamental things you need to do at least that's how it was and is still for me.
Number one: You have to have a dream. This can't be any old ordinary dream either.

Your dream should be so big that the act of trying to get there scare the heck out of you and there is a very real possibility that you may not be able to achieve it at all.

That being said once you have your big bodacious dream in mind and can see the end destination for it then you can begin to move forward towards.

Number two: Moving forward, Chasing down your super gigantic dream can be scary but if you know where you are trying to go which is what part one is all about (defining where the road ends).

If you know where the road ends it is like a 100 % easier to map out exactly how you plan to get there. If you didn't go through part one though and have not created an idea in your mind (i.e. your dream) no map in the entire world can help you because how are you going to make a plan to get to some destination but have no idea where that destination is that you're supposed to be going.

Once you have a clearly pictured dream of where you want top end up chasing down your dream one heck of an interesting journey. Even if I never quite make it to my end destination(dream goal) I know that I will be okay because my dream is so huge that wherever i land is going to be pretty awesome so I just sit back and enjoy the ride. thanks for posting.
