First Course Completed!
Hi Guys,
I completed my first course. I was hoping to complete the initial course in the first week of joining WA but felt overwhelmed when I had to engage my writing skills. Also, I thought Kyle's website "Basketball skills & Drills" was very intimidating. Nonetheless, I took the plunge and started writing at 2:00 am one morning, which seems to be the trick in writing. I allowed my thoughts to flow, whether or not they were coherent. The following day, I corrected my work and tried to make it sound cogent and less bland. I am happy to say, after a couple of days of hiding from my task, I have finally completed it. I am feeling very empowered.
After completing my first writing task - the "about me" page - I fell into another slump. I am unsure why I am on an emotional rollercoaster. I thought the "finding keyword" task was very daunting. Initially, it appeared to be the easiest item to tackle. Looking at the different criteria I needed to identify good keywords is a task in itself. However, as soon as I began, I got into the groove of things and found a few keywords that fit the criteria. This last activity ended as soon as it started.
I am very excited about moving onto the next course. My lesson from this experience is very simple, "Just do it" like Nike. The key is to get started. Once you overcome this initial step, you will want to see it through to completion. In addition to being excited about the things I will learn in the next course, I cannot wait to create a website that rivals Kyle's "Basketball Skills & Drills" website.
Have fun guys!
