Dear WAers,
I have been doing well after making some mistakes in the last 24 hours. But right now, I want to share something useful, especially for you who want to write better books faster and professionally without losing your own experience, voice, and creativity.
You know I am talking about AI.
You can use any chat bot of your choice, but it has to be a paid one to avoid limits. This is because ChatGPT, for example, doesn't recall long conversations in free version. I am using a free version now for some small tasks since I have the Content Creator here and Image Studio for my blog. This is because Amazon has suspended my KDP account for now until further notice.
I'm not writing books for now.
But I'm reviewing how I have been working with AI to write better books ever. This is what I call, "Book Writing Master Prompt," and it can be refined per your own situation, and it can work for any kind of book/genre, if you customize it. Here's the master prompt I use:
------------------------------------------------------------
MASTER BOOK CREATION AND PUBLISHING PROMPT v1.0
Act as my professional book researcher, strategist, writer, editor, and KDP publishing assistant. Help me develop a high-quality, original book from idea to publication.
1. BOOK RESEARCH AND VALIDATION
Start by researching the proposed book idea and, where web research is available, examine:
- What readers are searching for online
- Reader pain points, questions, needs, and desired outcomes
- Relevant keywords and search intent
- Competing books and their positioning
- Gaps, weaknesses, and opportunities in existing content
- Suitable genre, category, audience, and market positioning
Use this research to validate or improve the proposed title, subtitle, genre, target reader, book promise, and central message. Do not blindly accept my initial ideas if research suggests better alternatives.
2. BOOK DEVELOPMENT
Once the concept is validated, create:
- Book positioning and reader promise
- Chapter-by-chapter outline
- Logical structure and progression
- Key arguments, lessons, examples, stories, and practical applications
Write the book in a clear, natural, human voice. Prioritize originality, usefulness, accuracy, readability, and integrity. Avoid filler, repetition, clichés, plagiarism, and unnecessary complexity.
3. FRONT MATTER
Ready to put this into action?
Start your free journey today — no credit card required.
Include only elements appropriate to the book, such as:
- Half Title Page
- Title Page
- Copyright Page
- Dedication
- Epigraph
- Table of Contents
- Foreword
- Preface
- Introduction
4. MAIN MATTER
Develop the complete manuscript, including:
- Introduction
- Parts or sections when appropriate
- Chapters
- Chapter-specific examples, exercises, reflections, summaries, or takeaways where useful
- Conclusion
Maintain consistency in voice, terminology, arguments, formatting, and reader experience.
5. BACK MATTER
Include relevant elements such as:
- Acknowledgments
- About the Author
- Appendix
- Notes
- Glossary
- References/Bibliography
- Discussion or Reflection Questions
- Additional Resources
- Call to Action
- Other appropriate end matter
Do not add unnecessary sections simply to fill space.
6. EDITING AND QUALITY CONTROL
After drafting, review the manuscript for:
- Accuracy and logical consistency
- Structure and flow
- Repetition and weak sections
- Grammar, spelling, and readability
- Continuity between chapters
- Unsupported claims
- Reader value
- Originality and possible plagiarism concerns
Recommend improvements before finalizing the manuscript.
7. KDP PUBLISHING PACKAGE
Prepare the appropriate publishing elements:
- Final Title
- Subtitle
- Book Description
- Back-Cover Blurb
- Author Bio
- 7 Long-Tail KDP Keywords
- 3 KDP Categories
- Recommended Audience/Positioning
- Paperback/Hardcover/Kindle formatting considerations
- Trim Size and manuscript specifications
- Cover concept and cover text
- Amazon A+ Content modules
- Other relevant KDP metadata
WORKFLOW
Do not attempt to complete everything at once. Work through the stages sequentially:
Research → Validation → Positioning → Outline → Front Matter → Main Matter → Back Matter → Editing → KDP Publishing Package
Pause after each major stage for my approval before proceeding.
BOOK-SPECIFIC INPUT
Proposed Title: [TITLE OR IDEA]
Proposed Subtitle: [SUBTITLE OR LEAVE BLANK]
Genre/Category: [GENRE OR LEAVE BLANK]
Target Reader: [READER OR LEAVE BLANK]
Purpose/Problem: [PURPOSE OR PAIN POINT]
Desired Length: [WORD/PAGE COUNT OR LEAVE BLANK]
Tone/Voice: [TONE OR LEAVE BLANK]
Special Requirements: [ANY ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS]
If any field is blank, research and recommend the best option rather than guessing.
----------------------------------------------------
I have been adjusting results in case they don't follow this master prompt, or whenever I don't like the outcomes. AI is a tool; you are the author, the director. You tell it what to do. You continue refining. You edit/read each word, sentence, paragraph, and chapter, and each section before even thinking of uploading it to Amazon.
I hope this prompt helps. Try it and let me know how it was.
