Hi all.

I don't know if this is the right place for my musing's but I just wanted to say how happy I am to have found WA.

Just a little about my life to date. I left school at 15 with no qualifications and joined the army as soon as I was old enough. This was mainly due to family life as opposed to a burning desire to join the military. However, after about two years service I was awarded the British Empire Medal (aged 21) so I guess something must have suited me. I left the army and started working in public service with the Fire Service and later the health service, my present title being an Operating Department Practitioner.

My goals for the future are to be able to earn a modest amount working from home so that I can spend more time with my family and help other which I enjoy doing. Last year I went to Sierra Leone as part of a medical team. It was unpaid but I felt it was one of the most satisfying experiences I had ever taken part in. The downside was it took me about two months to recover from my lack of earning's, paying bills etc.

I started looking at setting on on-line business up about two years ago when I suddenly realised I was getting old and worried about how I would live when I could no longer go out to work. I have a couple of small pensions but will be no where near enough to cover what I will need to maintain my current lifestyle. Let me say now that I don't live in a big house or go out every night. In fact most of my free time is spent on the computer trying to learn how to make a living. I have bought on-line training from three of the biggest marketeers which has proved to be hard earned cash down the drain. I don't blame anyone but myself for this as I was trying to find the quick fix. I'm not saying their training did not work or would not achieve results but what they did not point out is that getting people to see your site or product is a different matter entirely. You may say that's totally down to me, and it is. I just did not recognise the fact that I had to somehow get traffic to my site. So how do I do that? Enter a whole new jungle!!!!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. I have come to realise late in the day that there is no shiny button to press or quick and easy solutions. In fact whenever I log on to my emails I delete anything with quick or easy in the title without opening.

My only spending from now on is my WA subscription.
