I kind of accidentally found WA, when I was searching to see if another site was a scam. I'm so glad I did!
My wife and I have a few different businesses running at the same time. We live in Hawaii and we have 6 Vacation rentals in Waikiki that we list on sites like Airbnb & HomeAway. The income is pretty good, and they book pretty well for the most part.
But we've been feeling like we are leaving money on the table. First, we have to share a booking fee with Airbnb, or whoever. Plus, we're always answering questions and providing suggestions for activities for our guests. When they purchase a tour that we suggest, we'd like to see a piece of that come back to us.
About a year ago we decided to build our own site. This way we could book our own rentals and we wouldn't need to share commissions. We still had no idea about affiliate marketing, so we were still sharing all of our good suggestions for tours and luaus, with no expectation that it will pay off (other than having a happy customer, which is still pretty good).

We choose Wix to build our site, because we found that it is pretty easy to use and you can build something pretty nice without much experience. Unfortunately, we didn't know anything about affiliate marketing or SEO and Wix support, which is fine for what it is, isn't designed for mentoring or teaching every detail of making income online...so the site just sort of stagnated.
Now, after a couple of weeks on WA, we have revived our Wix site. We're getting views and even some AdSense clicks. We have a few appropriate affiliate ads for tour companies and we're really picking up steam.
I've got the basic outline for a WA affiliate site and have an idea for another one too!
But my current task is to rebuild a version of our Wix website on SiteRubix, so that when our Wix subscription expires next month, we can move the domain to our new updated site.
