Happiness HI
Aloha WA!
I've been absent for some time and I see that my rank has here has suffered. That's quite all right. I've been busy working on something of a passion project.
You know how the world sort of seems to be going to sh*t in many ways?
Of course you do.
But you've probably noticed that there are a lot of hopeful signs. Amazing technologies are being developed and more and more people are beginning to stand up to bigotry.
So there's hope.
I have an idea that could bring even more hope to humanity!
Sounds pretty audacious right?
Here's the idea:
Open source civilization
This world has many crumbling and ineffective institutions. An obvious example is the U.S. political party system. Not only does the 2 party system in the U.S. no longer support the ideals our country was founded on, in recent years it has begun to undermine our republic.
But we, the people, could form a more perfect system. Using the technologies available to us, we could design a system to take over some of the functions of our governments and other failing institutions (like banks).
If you are unfamiliar with blockchain technology, I recommend you familiarize yourself with it. It is most certainly one of the most important advances of this century. Beyond cryptocurrency, block-chain has nearly endless applications, from self-executing contracts to governance and even supply chain management.
Governments, banks and corporations are already exploring uses for block-chain in the future.
Shouldn't it be we, the people, not banks, governments and corporations, who determine how this critical technology is used?
So it is my proposal to start an open source project to enable all Humans on Earth to to come together with the best ideas for solving the host of problems we're facing during this incredibly chaotic time in history.
It is not necessary to have a revolution in order to have a revolution. We don't need to overthrow any governments. We just need to come together and start solving problems ourselves.
So here's the CTA. I hope I'm not violating WA policy, but I would appreciate it if anyone who is interested in pursuing this idea, please follow me on these two accounts and engage in the conversation about an open source civilization.
I'm calling it Happiness HI.

Hi Joseph, welcome back here and thanks for sharing this post. Great technology with high hope for the future:)
Cheers Anna
Yes, but we actually have to do something. I hope you all can check out the social media posts I made regarding this. And please do share.
Mahalo!
I am always up for doing things, locally that government does not have to do. I am a big one for privatization and this seems like what this is.

Love it... "We just need to come together and start solving problems ourselves." It's what WE (WA) do best and it's why we are here! Thanks for the inspiration Joe. Off to do a bit of research, Sue :)
Thanks Sue!
