Law Of Attraction or Coincidence?

Hi all. My name's Joe and I suffer from Social Anxiety. One to one interaction is fine but I tend to withdraw when I'm amongst 2 or more people. Have always been in full-time work however it is very draining mentally. My anxiety is a by-product of a low self esteem.

Two days ago I was close to having a nervous break down on the job I just wanted to walk out and quit. Because I distance myself it's no wonder that I get isolated. True, I agree that it is of my own doing as it serves a purpose of self preservation (sort of. lol)

Anyways I sat in my car and was close to tears. The words "give up" came to mind and was swiftly disposed of. I have loved ones that I don't want to hurt. (side note: I'm single too;P hehe)

Back to my moment of yearning for a solution my heart cried out for a cash injection of $10,000. 00 as security to cover my expenses so I can quit my job with out me having to (1). buy a lottery ticket (2). make a loan (3).work a second job (4). rob a bank, and (5). save out of my minimum wage that would take 2 years at $100. 00 a week.

If you're familiar with the "Law Of Attraction" well this story of how I came to arrive at Wealthy Affiliate is LOA in effect!

Part of my daily ritual when I get home from work is check for messages. My gmail account was spam free until 2 days ago. This particular account was strictly business, family and friends. I do not recall signing up for anything of this nature. What surprised was I had in my inbox a message from a K Thompson. Title was "Private Invitation" I open and immediately the words within the message, a paragraph into it jump out at me "You could earn up to $10,000. 00 a month!"

Too good to be true I search with due diligence this K Thompson. He seems legit however I'm not sure what he's about. I add to cart his program then with disappointment discover the price is out of reach. It would take 2 and a half months to save that amount.

I search for others and they all claim ridiculously large sums of money. A youtube clip directs me to Empower Network. EN sounds too good to be true I search reviews and read that it's a scam. This blogger then recommends WA and lists reason why and I was a sucker that is now typing this testimony that you're reading. In hindsight I now assume that blogger was a member of WA promoting this awesome community,

Some may call me naïve but I have faith in this system. I trust that it will help me find the security and freedom I desire.

Joe - thank you for being so open and sharing your story with us. The strength you have shown is inspiring and I am glad to see that in 2014, you are still here within the WA community. I hope you are experiencing a lot of success!

Just like you, the law of attraction guided me to this community.

So happy for you :D

Aw - big luvs Joe. From what I've seen so far, everything here seems legit to me and I'm learning so much, so fast - maybe a little too fast lol. Here's to your awesomeness :)

Hi Joe,

I suffer from social anxiety too. I know how isolating it can be at times and how incredibly difficult it can make working a "normal" job. I have walked out and quit on more than one job before because I just couldn't deal with the pressure. I'm glad the thoughts of suicide quickly overcame you and you thought of your loved ones, that is what is important.

Wealthy Affiliate is a wonderful place and it has taught me how to make my own income so I no longer have to deal with the crazy job world. There are no promises or crazy claims of making your first 10,000 overnight - they really stress the fact it takes TIME and HARD WORK to make it happen. (It really does!)

WA provides you with the tools and training to create your own business, and if you take advantage of what the community has to offer you and really work hard you will be surprised at the results you can achieve. ) The only one that is responsible for you making money with this training is YOU!

i wish you the best of luck and I'm sure you'll like it here!

Hi Wendy,

I look forward to reaching where you are at now. I'm not under any illusion that this is going to be a walk in the park.

As you have experienced what I am going through I'm sure you would have a fair idea of my motivation to succeed at this endeavour.

Would you please define for me "hard work?" Time is not a factor but I would like to know what activities are going to push my brain to its limit. Is there lots of research involved? Lots and lots of writing?

Thanks for the warm welcome and yes this is better than facebook:)

Joe

Well, I'd say it was a lot of hard work at first because I arrived here with ZERO knowledge, I had to learn everything from the ground up and the learning curve is huge. I also got frustrated many times because of a few technical things here and there, so it was definitely a lot harder and more stressful for me in the beginning. So yes initially there is a lot of learning involved.

Yes there is quite a bit of writing involved, and I was not a very good writer when I first started out, and it was very difficult for me to continuously research and write new articles on a consistent basis. After doing it for quite some time now, it flows a lot smoother and is a lot easier.

Nowadays I wouldn't say the work is actually *hard*, but it's definitely a lot of work. It just can be time consuming (especially in the beginning).

Hey Joe,

Welcome! I don't have social anxiety to the extent that you do, but I am generally more introverted and am not a fan of being in a large group for an extended period of time, so I get what you're saying with that.

In regards to WA, yes, this community really is the real deal. I've only been here for a little over a week, but I've already received a ton of help from various users, and am on my way to building a great website.

Good luck to you, and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

Joe

P.S. Nice name. xD

Hi JoeButler:)

There can never be enough of us Joes. I like to believe that where ever we (Joe) are is because Divine inspiration led us there for various reasons. Where there is a need, there will be a Joe.

I interpret your name to mean "May God add Service."

I am "May God add Lover of Horses?" WTH???

It's a pleasure and honour to have you read and comment on my blog.

May your name remainxD

Hi Joe!

I agree completely with what you're saying. I, too, suffer from crazy anxiety crap that keeps me from holding down a job. And, living in a rural town, there is no public transportation around here (my anxiety keeps me from driving as well, I'm almost 21 years old...). All of the jobs i did have, I quit from, or were 2-3 months seasonal jobs.

Desperate to not have my boyfriend be annoyed with me on the couch all the time, and the will to help support my mom and survive the cold winter, I went searching the internet.

I looked forever, and ever, and ever. Then I came across what I would assume would be the same blogger that you read. I read that, and I thought "what the hell, why not?!".

And here I am! I've only been here for 3 days but I've been working my tuckus off and at times I feel overwhelmed. But I find comfort that I can walk away, have a cup of coffee, and come back to it with no fear of the people around me!

LOA was definitely in effect!

Hey Hannah, I suffered from social anxiety years and years ago. It wasn't until I became a substitute teacher that I slowly emerged from my shell. I was a piano performance major and I couldn't even perform a mandatory recital so I could proceed to be a senior.

That aside, I learned a lot from talking to kids. Don't know why, but it worked for me. I've been making a living mainly as a private piano teacher, but when I hold recitals for the kiddos I have to address a large crowd. I was a nervous wreck and had to take a pill just to get through it before - say ten years ago. Now I can talk to crowds and it's easy peasy. You just have to think about helping people who are listening to you. And DON"T even think for one second about yourself, your outfit, your hair, your demeanor.

Maybe you could start out by reading to kids at the library. They always need people like that. This suggestion could also go for Joe.

But to cut to the quick, WA is a great place to learn Internet marketing and become an expert in putting up a web site. But what's so cool here is that the people are here to help you do whatever it is you may be having problems with. Whether technical, writing or inspirational issues. We're all here for the same reason.

Good for you. Breath deep and think good thoughts.

Thanks Hannah for your understanding. Yes anxiety sucks and thankfully most of the time it's manageable.

Good for you that you recognise lounging all day is not good for the health.. neither is being nagged at aye? lol.

Our primary jobseekers website in NZ is 'seek'nz. Their slogan is "seek and you will find" which is basically your experience as well!

Wish I was smart when I was your age to seek out an opportunity like this but hey there's no better time than NOW.

May your focus lead you to the success you desire:)

@tntgoodrich: Strangely I have no fear of public speaking. My star sign is Leo and many of the characteristics do not resonate with me but the love of being in the spot light. Now that I mention it the words "drama-queen" come to mind hahaha. Seriously, I enjoy giving speeches as I have been a Toastmaster in the past and did very well. Love the stage and love owning it.

Hey Joe, I'm a member for 3 months now and I'm having fun learning things that I can't imagine I'll come across. The knowledge I'm getting is overrated with the membership I choose to take.

I hope you will have a chance to read a blog here recently talking about her 6 years experience at WA, very inspirational.

I'm very much sure you had just made the right decission in joining WA with us.

Welcome and wish you success!!!!!

Hi ivanjane, couldn't agree more with you about the wealth of knowledge we're getting, even for myself as a starter member.

I did read Victorias blog and yes it does inspire. She's on level star trek. I found out about affiliate marketing around the same time but my mind was not ready. The support we have today was not readily available as it is now with better internet speeds. Here in NZ we were still on dial up speed back then. Ultra fast fibre optic speed is not here yet so we're still behind the rest of the world.

Thank you for validating my decision to join and may your success bless you and your loved ones:)

Hi Joe.

Welcome to WA, yes it is a completely, awesome, supportive community and I think you benefit tremendously from what you can learn here.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling so much with your inner self and consuming thoughts but I'm very happy to hear your thoughts of suicide were minimal and fleeting....

I absolutely believe in the power of attraction and I'm certain that's why you're here. The universe heard your cry for help and handed you a great opportunity. But remember, you must follow the steps here and take action on what you learn, if you can do that, I'm sure you will be well on your way to the life you're looking forward too.

Good luck on your journey.

Best wishes,

Patty :)

Thanks Patty for the kind words. Perhaps suicide is too strong a word to use. "Give up" I reckon would have been better to use as I have more than enough hope in my tank. The comments on this blog are evidence of a caring community.

Blessings to you and your family:)
