Authoring & Writing Content

Good morning WA world!

My question is will Google will "ban" me for plagarism if I write an article that is just like my previous article with some minor adjustments? Se

What you can do instead, add some more content on the first post that it applies also for neck pain.

Thank you for your suggestion. I thought about altering my text, but the article is several days old now, and for SEO purposes, I didn't think that I should alter it. What do you think? It hasn't been indexed in Google yet.

It is ok to do so, even if it was indexed already I would do it. You create content for your readers not search engines.

Hi Joan,

Send me the article, and I'll edit it for you if you want.
It's all about structuring it differently and using "better" words.
Have a great day.

P.S: I've been studying copywriting, so it'll be good practise for me : ). Win-win.

Thank you, Dedo. Wow, I love it if you would edit it or advise me accordingly.

I understand that I can't put a link to my website here, but if you go to my profile, in the top right area it says "Follow Me On" and has my website URL. Under 'Popular Posts', the article is 'Lower Back Pain and Sleeping'.

Thank you very much,
Joanie

Hi Joanie

Robert Boomer correctly warned against 'duplicate content' even if it has been cleverly reworded. I know because I have done it myself. Google is ruthless, and you will find that the dark lord will select one URL which it decides is the canonical version and crawl that. So in your Google Search Console under Coverage you will see a sudden increase in 'excluded' content.

Wow, sounds terrible!. Thanks for the advice.

google won't ban you.
it will not be good for your visitors - imagine reading the same information twice on a site - would you return- i know i wouldn't.
i would rewrite it for the neck - keeping to the same information but reword it.
if you copy it google will not punish you - you are punishing yourself
google will not rank the same information twice on the same site - so it isyou that are presenting the same infomation- google is helping you by telling you that there is content that is the same and allowing you to change it...

Very good advice, and I want all my content ranked. And you're right, having the same info would be very boring. Thanks for your directness.

All the best to you.

Google does not like to see duplicate content and even if you were to change it up a bit it will still be recognized as duplicate. Google will not rank the duplicate content, so doing so would be a waste of time. Always make your content unique.

Very good advice here. Thank you so much.

You all who have responded are all so helpful and honest, and that's what I want and need.

Thank you again, and blessings to you all with your online endeavors!

If you have a custom menu in your parent theme it should show up. However, it doesn't you can create one in your child theme see the training above

Thank you so much, I'll take a look at the training.

If you get stuck ask again

The problem I'm having isn't the menu, and it looks like my child theme does support custom menus, it's the Title of the pages appearing in the post when you open that page. Can you please advise me further? Thanks so much.

You are going to have to change it by CSS I can point you to the best place to work out the CSS you need https://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp

This is an Interactive Tutorial which you might like to book the book mark because you can try the CSS yourself. I can write HTML code but CSS does my head in

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hello out there. I'm really having a hard time deciding on a niche and wondered if anyone can help. I like computers (high-speed scanners), health (weight), books (educational)

You have got some great replies. You have a good problem.

I usually prepare a list and then prioritize what I like to do and then do some research what affiliate products associated with those niches. Then you go with a niche you can monetize.

Thanks for the advice Stanley, the best to you also!

Judy is right, you need to pick a niche you can monetize and that you love the subject of also. Write down your niche topic and then write down all the items you can monetize and write blogs about.
for example.

weight loss:

books and videos
diet plans (be an affiliate - check on Clickbank marketplace)
keto, whole30, ... all the different diet plans
even kitchen stuff to prepare food
Mindset stuff to change the way you think about food
surgery
pills and patches
Weight loss shakes and programs (more affiliate opportunities)

Thanks so much for your great recommendations! And the best to you too.

Hi Joanie,

You got some good advice from Judy. Can’t do better than that. Hope you’ve made your niche decision by now.

Cheers!

Edwin

Hi Joanie, weight loss is a great timeless niche for sure so if you can narrow to a specific age group or condition of some sort you should be able to do well. Hospice care has probably got great potential but I'm not sure of how you'd monetize it... important to follow your heart and work with something you enjoy. That way it stays interesting and you enjoy working on it. Best of success with your Niche choice!

Judy :)

Thanks Judy, great advice.
