What has changed at Wealthy Affiliate?
So, what has changed at Wealthy affiliate.
Those that know me here realize I was away for a little while due to illness. Now that I'm back I've noticed a major change here. Well, several really but this certain one has me stumped.
Over the years we have always been told that you cannot promote your online or any other business on the Wealthy Affiliate blogging platform. This meant that you couldn't add any links to your Website or other external websites on your WA blogs. You could add your Website on the 'Follow me On' section of your profile page. You can also add the link to your own website/sites on the 'Website feedback' page.
Ever since I returned I have noticed countless blogs that have these very links on them.
What has Changed?
Has Kyle and Carson changed the rules? Or have we all become slack?. As members we used to warn other members about not doing this and, if they persisted, we would report them.
Adding links to your WA blogs was seen as scamming.
What are your thoughts on this?
or have the rules actually changed and I've simply missed it?

4 yrs here and what you have stated is why I do not write much here. I write for my own sites which make me money.
I am not a major promoter of WA, unless someone clicks on my advertisements, and then I will encourage properly.
The knowledge and learning is valuable to me, and helps with my offline strategy as well.
So many people and so little time I feel is a huge cause of the issues. Perhaps the ones who have been here so long can give some ideas of what can and is being done other than those who see it and reporting it. huge drain of time. we should not have to be the whistleblowers.
Nice to see you are feeling better though and wish you successfully moving forward with continued good health.

My wife tells me that I am oblivious to the world. I don't see stuff like this. Maybe I have ADD.
I can't fathom any member clicking their website URL posted in a WA blog. Such a waste of time.
It takes all sorts to make our world, And WA is no different. Just ignore them and move on.

Moving on is fine Edwin , but we have enough Spam in the world and some of the ones I noticed were obviously new and only on the platform to spam us.
I like the rules. It is much nicer when you do not worry about being inundated with website links.
As far as I know, the rules have not changed. I guess we are just slack.
I am here for the knowledge and ability to ask questions and receive answers. There used to be a lot more technical information in the blogs written here.....

I agree Alex, maybe we need to get back to that. Sadly I also noticed that very few people seem to access the incredible training made available by fellow members.

The rules have not changed. We do take down content that is promotional, and people with "learn more" style links within their content where they paint half the picture. As with any platform, there are going to be times where some content slips through the cracks, so that will happen.
If there is ever anything that you see slip through the cracks, we of course are completely and always available...so simply reach out if you run into this situation Jim.
Nothing has changed here in this respect, and our ongoing help is to get others helped with more efficiency. This has been the case, as response times have continued to improve, along with the level of help available within the community.
