3 Quick Elements of an Affiliates' Target Audience
For anyone who is in a business that involves selling like affiliate marketing than a top priority is to be aware of your target market.
A crucial aspect of having success online when working as an affiliate marketer is to know your Target Industry. In other words, you need to know who, what and where your customers are.
As soon as you decide on a Niche you should know who your target market is. This should be obvious as you decide on your niche but don't forgo the research. See who your competition is and see what they're doing and who they're marketing to. Make sure you know the demographics of your competition. It only makes sense to run your business on cold hard facts rather than operating your business on total guesswork and gambling with your business which is what most folks in Affiliate Marketing have a tendency to do.
The 3 main elements to Target Your Market are as follows:
1) Who Will you be Attracting? You need to identify specific folks within your chosen market so as to tailor your business to them. For example, if your market is Golfing then rather than attempting to attract everyone enthusiastic about golf go somewhat more deeply and target "lady players in the UK" or "Junior golfers".

2) What's their Problem?!? Now that you know who they are you need to know what problems they are facing within your market. If you identify their problems you will then be able to offer them solutions such as your Authoritative Website content and of course your affiliate products.
Use the above Golf Example. Now you've discovered that lady golfers are having trouble locating equipment for their particular size. Your process should now be to reverse engineer this issue and find affiliate products that solve this problem and market to that audience.
3) Where's your audience hanging out?. OK, you know who your Target Industry is, you really know what their problems are, you now need to know where they hang out. Exactly where do they visit online and in real life? What kind of websites do they read? What real world places do they visit? Business goes where business is being done. Find out where the chatter is and become a part of the conversation.
Understanding this sort of information will help you when you come to positioning your affiliate adverts and the merchandise you are promoting.

Do your homework up front on your market. Market Research is a real thing. Don't ignore it. It will save you tons of time and money in the long run.
