Render-Blocking JavaScript
Last week I asked if anyone knew how to alleviate what Google called "render-blocking javascript". And I got some responses from people who had seen the same message, evidently when looking to google for site speed testing.
Even though some had heard of this, no one knew what to do about it. Everyone was simply confused by it all.
This past week I contacted a man here where I live, who builds websites commercially, and has a couple of sites himself. He is actually an expert at it, and I can see from talking to him, he knows everything I could ever want to know about a website and about optimization, or anything like that.
He explained all about render blocking Java script. And he explained some things about how the text of your content appears to the search engines, as opposed to how the visual side of it looks.
He explained how TO word things in your content, and how NOT to word things. Things that I would never have dreamed of, but that had experience with.
Next week he's going to go over my site with me and move that render-blocking stuff and do a few other things that my site needs. In the meantime, he's told me to change a few things myself that I am callable of doing on my own. I'll let you all know how it works out.
My goal is to significantly speed up my site, and increase my rankings with Google with a few tweaks in the right places.

Hey Jim...I've never heard of it...will keep my eyes open & look forward to your next post about this!
Thanks Jim...I didn't go that far down before! That'll teach me...
Very interesting...had no idea about that!
I have an issue with the same thing, render blocking in Google Analytics. I will watch for your message about what to do. It may help me get a complete when I fetch & render, instead of partial.
Thanks,
Barry
It's a simple matter of taking the particular script that Google indicates is causing the problem, and moving it from the top of your body of HTML text, and putting it at the bottom. I just didn't want to mess with the HTML text until he showed me exactly how to do it. I didn't want to mess anything up. As soon as he shows me for sure how to do it, I'll let you know. He said it will help your load speed by at least a few points.
