I really would like to add a related post section at the bottom of my posts but I'm not really looking to add in a plugin because I don't want to slow down my site speed.

<

I would do that manually as well in order to show VERY related posts.

Thanks Alex - I do embed links to other posts within my content but that doesn't seem to be helping my bounce rate very much. I'm going to try out manually adding a related post with wording similar to what Dreamer56 suggested at the end of the post on some of my frequently visited posts and see if that helps!

I'd probably add those links in forms of images ;)

so at the risk of sounding really dumb I'm wondering how I do that? In my head I'm seeing the image of my related post with the link underneath - just not sure exactly how to make that happen manually. I tried just adding the images with the name of the article underneath but it really looks amateurish... thoughts? suggestions? Thanks!

Well that is kind of the hard thing about making something custom :( It all depends on your theme, placement and many other factors.

Some themes even have an inbuilt function of showing related posts. there are also plugins that do that but I've never found the one I liked.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't be super easy. I'm going to keep trying - unfortunately my theme doesn't have it built in and I did try a couple plug ins but didn't love them :(

Might have to consider switching themes to something that does have one but honestly I'm scared that it will mess up everything that I already have....

Thanks for your help though!

Switching themes could be super easy but it also could mess things up as you said, although your content wouldn't disappear ;)

I found a really awesome paid theme a few years ago and now all of my sites run on it. It's super customizable so all of the sites look different, I've decided that I need to learn 1 theme and stick to it rather than keep jumping from one to another.

Jennifer you might consider doing it manuallyat the end of your post. You might add .... "You might be interested in this related post" and link to your other post.

I Think categories might help with this also

Thanks! I am going to give this a try and see if it helps my bounce rate at all!

HEY TIM, CAN YOU SEND ME TO A LINK THAT IS GOOD TO EXPLAIN CATEGORIES IN MUCH MORE DETAIL PLEASE :0)) MIGHT HLEP ME WITH MY POSTS TOO XOXOX CHEERS IF YOU CAN HUN XOXO TO YOU AND YOURS

Just wondering if anyone is using Icegram plugin? I was trying to decide if Sumome was right for me and saw a comparison between that and Icegram. Would love to hear some thoug

i have never heard of that either :-))

Never heard of it.

I just wanted to comment on this thread because I was wondering the same thing too! I know most people use SumoMe but all the comparison articles I read lean towards Icegram. I want to keep following this question thread to see where it leads.

Anyone use icegram for their email lists?
