Hitting a brick wall.
Having spent the last 7 weeks working every spare hour on my website, I seem to have hit a bit of a wall and just can’t seem to get going at the moment.
Maybe my brain has been overloaded and is forcing a break on me.
Perhaps the most important thing is to cut myself a bit of slack and not beat myself up about the lack of motivation (and to stop using metaphors!). It’s peculiar because I know which posts I need to be writing and which pages to improve, but just can’t get my act together to do the work needed.
I wonder if other people have experienced this after the initial burst of enthusiasm and excitement.
I know this is temporary and I’ll be fired up again soon but it’d be good to hear that I’m not the only one who’s experienced this……..

Hi Jilly,
I think this is to be expected. We are learning so much new stuff. It makes sense that we need time out every so often to digest all the information. Maybe it's our brain's way of taking a "nanna nap"! My journey thus far has seen many such naps along the way. LOL! How much time we have to devote also comes into play. You mention you've been spending every spare moment immersing yourself in WA. Maybe some "non brain" activity will help. This often works for me. Doing dishes, gardening - anything that is mindless - allows me to recharge the batteries.
Hope I've been some help.
Wishing you all the best.
Hi Julie - thanks for your message and I think you're completely right - just need a bit of time out to refresh and regroup then I'll be back firing on all cylinders!
To be honest with you Jill, this is something we all go through, bursts followed by lulls, followed by growth, ups and downs.
Completely normal stuff here and sometimes when I am feeling this, I do change what I am working on or just spend some time to think of ideas. Shifting gears like this can spur creativity and also rejuvenate you to head back in and work on your business.
Do some research. Find some affiliate programs. Look for some new ideas in your niche. Read some forums to see what people need help with. Take a break. All of this is OK.
Hi Jill; Sorry to hear that you feel overloaded and overburdened and I can totally understand how you feel. What I am doing if it helps and I am starting tomorrow. I am giving 1 to 1.5 hours to the community and the rest of my time in WA to training and finishing my site. The problem is I keep getting sucked in to the various discussions and before you know it the day is gone and you have nothing done on your site. So until I have my training done and my site finished that is going to be my new regime. Please stay motivated and with us as you are a valuable person in our community but you must ease back.
Take Care.
Thomas;-)
Thanks for your comments Ollie - I really appreciate you taking the time. I think your approach is a great one - I also find myself getting so distracted by discussions and suddenly the day's gone! I'm going to adopt a similar regime - glad it's not just me!
That's the proof I needed of my lack of concentration - sorry Thomas, I called you Ollie!!!
Actually Jill I prefer Ollie my name is Thomas Ollie but at home everyone calls me Ollie. so either is fine only don't call me too early in the morning.##?
Yes, I know exactly how you feel! I want to learn as much as possible and get my website going online but have been in a lull as well. I think I must be experiencing Spring fever! It will pass, hopefully, and we can get back on track!
Thanks Pam - I'm hoping it's the effect of the solar eclipse here in the UK on Friday. Just found this (below) posted on my Facebook page which is hopefully a sign that things will get easier soon! Particularly like the second paragraph....
Quote: This is the week we've been talking about and building toward since the beginning of the year -- arguably the most powerful week of 2015, in astrological terms. This is the week of the final exact Pluto-Uranus square, a Solar Eclipse/New Moon in the very last degree of the zodiac, and the Aries Equinox. Throw in a Neptune-Mercury alignment in Pisces, and we have quite a mix of energies to work with.
We might call this a pivot point, a time of choosing new options and releasing the old. It is a time for breakthroughs and insights, when we can ride the energies of change into a new future. Unquote
