Focus is a skill, like listening, that requires practice to master. We are distracted many times a day from our family, friends, notifications and much more. One doesn't "in the moment" realize when they say "yes" to a distraction, they are saying "no" to something that really matters. Let's think about this for a second.
If I'm working and doing PRODUCTIVE task to grow my business, and I stop to commit to another non-money making activity- my income stops as an affiliate.
The winners in the world of independent contractors, watch every minute of their working "time slots." I came across a formula that gave me clarity of why I am not at my desired income. Yet at the same time, this helped me tremendously moving forward on how to use my time wisely.
The best part about doing this for yourself, is you don't have to work 24 hours a day to get where you want to go. You only have to FOCUS and be intentional on getting the most productive tasks done first. Say NO to distractions until your money making activities are complete, and hold this standard as non-negotiable.
Think about it this way...will you allow me to walk up to you and take a $100 out of your pocket? The answer is NO, so why allow people to interfere when you are working hard to earn that $100?

(4320 is the amount of minutes the average person spend working on their business. This includes 1 hour of training per week, and 1 hour for 5 days of taking productive action)
EQUALS: the PER MIN FOCUS INCOME

Average Commission: $8,000
Transactions: X3
Potential Income: $24,000
Divided by 4,320 minutes: 24,000/4320
PER MIN FOCUS INCOME: $5.56
Meaning if I allow one hour to be spent on a distraction and not on my business, I have lost $333.60 (5.56 X 60 mins).

That's very true about distractions from family and other sources that actually stop you from focusing on your work.
People don't realize that if you work at a job for 40 hours a week for someone who doesn't care about you, it takes more time because you're working harder for yourself.
Yes! I train my team to treat their business like a job; if I can't call you randomly at work and have a 40 min conversation, have the same rules apply when working for yourself. Thank you for your comment!
