My New Years' Resolution
So my new years resolution in 2019 was to start a blog. I had come across blogging by reading a blog post on financialsamurai.com and figured why not? I'm perfectly smart. I have multiple degrees, always did well in school and am a success in life at 41 years young thus far.
Additionally, I'm at a place where I wonder if my current job is what I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life. I mean I have been doing it for about 16 years already. 18+ in the workforce and can't believe where the time goes.
I don't think society really prepared me well for having a "real job" to some extent. About six months into my first real job I read the new book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and thought on darn I'm poor dad.
Becoming rich dad isn't as easy it sounds. I have had rentals over the years and now work in commercial real estate as a developer although I'm a W2 employee not the actual developer with his name on the door. That said, I like what I do and feel I make a positive difference in the world.
But when it came time for New Years resolutions in 2019, I said why not go for it. I researched for a long time (too long really) and came upon wealthy affiliate in August. Seemed like a good way to take the plunge.
I had read what seemed like hundreds of websites and it seemed that a lot of people are making money on teaching people how to make money online! That is great however you have to actually succeed first before you can do that. So that wasn't much help.
In two months at WA I have gotten my domain (yourworldsustainably.com) and started writing content. I still need a good logo and to really try to focus my niche into what I want it to become. It is not as easy as anyone implies, but hopefully I'm going in the right direction.
I have gotten some feedback from some people that has been good. Now I'll just keep pushing forward to see what I can come up with.
Onward and upward!
