A supermarket without any products on display in the shelves don’t qualify to be called a supermarket. Most likely it would be a new one being setup or one that is closing down.

Similarly, a supermarket with just a couple of products on display (even ON SALE) will attract a handful of customers who may not come back again.

We visit supermarkets to buy; food items, household items, office stationery etc. In the absence of these items, there’s no reason/motivation to visit that supermarket.

At the same time, most of us prefer to buy from one place to avoid the hassles of visiting 2 or 3 places to meet our needs. If a particular supermarket is scantly stocked, you look for anothe.

Don’t we often avoid shops that appears not to be sufficiently stocked, preferring ones that are beaming with inventory?

For a supermarket to remain competitive, it must constantly ensure stock levels are optimum, obsolete products are removed and new products are introduced regularly.

This supermarket scenario is a perfect example of the affiliate websites we are in. In our case, the content is the inventory. Having a good WA -powered website is not enough. It’s similar to securing premises, setting up systems and the shelves in the supermarket and hiring staff.

The stock for websites is the content we upload there. It doesn’t stop there. You must ensure you have the content that your customers want. Remember customers every so often and so is your content. Repurposing and adding new content is the order of the day to remain relevant, just as the supermarket has to remove obsolete and outdated products.

Its not just content but also quality content. It is the foundation of your website. Google uses quality as a major ranking factor to place content in search engine result pages (SERPs). It’s from this ranking that you can attract the right audience to your website, engage them and work towards getting the user to take action on your website.

When the audience click on your WA referral link, you are a step towards a commission!

I have posted this in the hope that you will not mistakes like I did. I focused too much on signing up with different affiliate programs without proportionate effort on content writing. Without content, no traffic and NO DOLLAR.

I remember Amazon once cancelling my affiliate subscription because I had not done any sale in months. The polite advise read ‘to sign up again when my website generate substantial traffic’. I was mad then but now I understand.

Friends, the trick is writing, writing and more writing. Of course, quality and optimized content.
