Back from vacation

Just took a vacation from Wisconsin as well as from Wealthy Affiliates. I was with my 16 year old daughter for nine days exploring Florida via Disney World, Universal Studios, Clearwater Marine Aquarium (home of the celebrity dolphins Hope and Winter from the Dolphin Tale movies) and relaxing with a friend in Naples. It was a wonderful time away from all of reality...'Where Dreams Come True' (Disney) and the sun always shines (Naples). Seeing Tinkerbell, princesses, minions and characters in parades, fighting crowds in the heat, taking long walks collecting sea shells, exploring the vegetation, swimming, lying in the sun by the pool, walking the beach and watching beautiful sunsets. It was all delightful.

And, surprisingly, I made it through the vacation with a somewhat moody teenager. One day on a boat ride to see the eco-systems, my daughter was lying down on the boat. Another passenger whispered to me "is she not feeling well or just being a teenager?" "Both," I replied, which pretty much sums up the trip.

But, in addition to mother-daughter bonding time, it also gave me a chance to think about my goals and how I want to achieve them through Wealthy Affiliates. I think distance and being in the land 'Where Dreams Come True' helped change my perspective. Before I doubted myself and WA. Now I am glad that I chose WA as I believe it provides the resources that are needed to get to my goals.

I was catching up today and listening to a webinar titled "Success is inevitable IF...you follow these two things."

1). Take Action - be willing to work hard and do what it takes;

2). Work on Yourself - be willing to do the work on yourself.

This sums up the process.

So, I am now buckling down and getting back into the swing of figuring out this whole affiliate marketing system. I still have many questions and it still seems overwhelming. But, I am willing to work hard on myself and my goals and...ask more questions.

Then I know success is inevitable.

I would love to hear your stories of 'buckling down' after a vacation or break and having a change of perspective.

Thanks for listening!

Hello Joan.

Just wanting to say HI. Its been a while since I saw you in any of the trhreads. I so get being in management mode with family and gotta love the moody teens and keep a hopeful attitude that their moods are opportunities to grow.

Take what time you can and keep at this. My process here has been slow because of a variety of personal setbacks and challenges around health and family 'stuff' but like you I am convinced we have found the best resource for learning and developing an internet business.

Kind regards across the miles.

Linda

I'm just getting back from a week out of town. Just spending time alone hammering out the necessities here so my head feels about water!

Hi Dan - I can understand! Good Luck!

Joan

What a wonderful vacation and patient mom! You have such a wonderful perspective of understanding that your daughter was just being a teenager and at least for a time not feeling well! Now just give yourself the same loving patient understanding and just take it one step at a time and you will travel the journey of success without being overwhelmed!

Hi Christabelle - great thoughts about using what I do with her for my business. Patience is definitely a virtue. Sounds like a good blog idea!

Blessings,
Joan

Yes Joan, I think it does sound like a good blog idea! :) Blessings to you as well, Christa :)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm about to embark on an adventure with a 16 year old myself this summer.

Good luck! We had our 'moments.' I thought she would leave some of her 'not so good' behaviors at home, but they came with us. We made it through, though, and had lots of good memories. Where are you heading out to?

I'm picking her up in Alabama and heading north to visit family and take her to some places she'd never see in her lifetime if I didn't pick her up. I'm a little nervous. I don't do "moments" well. LOL

I haven't gone on vacation, but lately I feel like I'm on vacation as I enjoy interacting with the WA family and learning and learning and learning, reading every blog and the comments.

This is how I supplement my WA training course Joan. Thank you for sharing your vacation.
God bless...
Shirley

Hi Shirley - I spend a lot of time reading others blogs and find it very helpful. I need to be careful to balance that with my work time on my website. Do you have any challenges in that area?

Thanks for your comment,
Joan

I probably have challenges but I don't know what that would be as yet. I've partially built two websites with my son's help, who I now find has as much understanding as I have as to what makes a website tick.

So! I went back to basics and getting started again. I'm prepared to take a year for it get going....or not. Doesn't matter. I'll just have fun nattering on the blogs that I'll be visiting every day.

Occasionally I will float a post up as and when, and when I'm good and ready I'll announce the revival of my "work in progress" websites. That's the plan for now. Thank you for your concern dear.... blessings,
Shirley

Sounds like you had a great time Joan. I always come back refreshed and re-energised after spending some time in the woods! :)

Hi Kathy - Vacations are good for the soul. The woods is also one of my favorite places.

Blessings,
Joan
