How did I get here?!
Everyday I sit at my laptop and have a specific task. I may have to do the books for my small business or I may have to respond to my social circle of friends or just something as simple as finding a website for making banana bread. Whatever the case may be I find myself straying from that task because I'm such a curious person. If I'm looking at a webpage for tips on breeding German Shepherds and I see a link that mentions white German Shepherds I'm immediately intrigued and I click; from there the clicking continues. Sometimes I get so caught up in the clicking that I don't remember how I got where I am. It can go on for so long sometimes I'm actually startled when I glance at the clock and see the time.
I was so determined to sit down with my iPad and continue reading a Stephen King novel (Revival) and decided just to check my last minute LinkedIn messages; that was about 7:45 pm. I saw a link about marketing strategies and thought I would just check out the website to see if it was worth an in-depth look tomorrow. I'm sure you know what's coming next and you would be right: I was so interested and needed to know NOW and what if I forgot where I was or got busy and forgot to go back at all? The pressure was just too much for me so I kept reading and clicking and now it is 11:51pm and I have not read one page of my novel. My only accomplishment over the past couple of hours of clicking, scanning, reading and more clicking is that I found Wealthy Affiliates. I started reading reviews and clicked and clicked and clicked again. I actually ended up on the Wealthy Affiliates homepage because a WA member did a review (how clever). I signed up for a premium membership after watching some videos and starting off as a free member. I'm excited that this time my insatiable thirst for information was quenched with that and so much more.

I can relate. I pretty much got off the habit but I still keep drifting off occasionally from my usual task and at the end of the day I got something done, just not what I wanted or needed to be done.
But sometimes it's good that we're like that. Everything happens for a reason and you finding WA is one. :)
