4,000 Mile Roadtrip & What It Taught Me About Life

I've always been the adventurous type and going on a road trip with my hubs, 4 kids, a dog and a cat in a 18 foot RV definitely qualifies as an adventure. lol

Even though I had been a full time RV kid for 7 years. That was so different. My parents were the adults and they had to take care of everything.

We set out without really knowing much about what we were doing and we made a lot of mistakes. We stayed about 4 hours within our base area to make sure we didn't mess anything up too bad while we were out west.

Our initial goal was getting to Vegas since we had a convention there. We actually ended up going all the way to California and out to Los Angeles which was awesome!

We had our tow vehicle break down on us in Phoenix which was the most major challenge that we had but we knew where our destination was and we made it.

Once we made it to our destination though, we wanted MORE! And we went out and got it.

When we start out on our journeys we may have one destination in mind. We may think that we know what we are doing and where we want to go, but that's not always the case. That initial goal is much likely a stepping stone toward the greatness we have inside of us.

Never stop dreaming. Never stop setting goals.

You don't have to have it all planned out or have a lot of money to get started. You don't have to see the entire stairway.

Just start. One step. One day. One hour. One minute. One action.

Go get 'em tiger!

Hi Jessica

Love this! YES, we also always say that the "vacation destination" is only to give us a sense of the general direction in which we want to go, but hey, sometimes we still end up in the total opposite direction, and that is good too! Total flexibility is one of the advantages of RV'ing!

Have fun and enjoy every moment!

Must have been a Great Adventure. One Day at a time, Live the moment. Some of us don't get the opportunity to travel, but life is also an adventure. Got to Love it.

We didn't get the opportunity. We made the opportunity. Sold everything and moved our family into a 18 foot RV. lol

Awesome though. Nice piece . Thanks

Looks like fun. I love the west!

Thanks Mike. :) It was pretty epic. We had never been to many of these places!

Hi Jessica,

Great story. Travel is one of the best ways to gain life experience. Thanks for sharing!! Best Regards, George

Thanks, George. Yes! I totally agree. :-D

4,000 miles road trip! and you drove?
I had a road trip covering only 283 Miles (455 km) and it took me 8 hours to reach my destination (of course the road was not good). It was definitely tiring but enjoyable at the same time. I try to imagine your trip - 4000 miles!. Awesome story.

Yes... the whole trip was about 4 months. :)
