Social Media Day

Building a social media presence is one of the scariest parts of this journey for me as I really don't use these platforms for anything other than keeping in contact with friends and family. I of course spend way too much time getting lost in the video content, but changing perspectives can be a challenging task to overcome.

But today I needed to look at creating social media profiles with value. This is where I feel Lost. My website is focusing on living Skoolie life from start up to the journey and experiences I hope to gain from living this life style. With this goal in mind I can come up with great future content that can also transition will to the social media formats, but now in my early stages I feel like I lack the resource materials to create engaging content.

Diving Right On In

Today I made the choice to rip the bandage off and just create two accounts. I created my sites Facebook and Pinterest accounts to start off with.

I choose these accounts because I am more familiar with their sites and tools offered within. This makes the bit I take today seem less scary.

Starting with Pinterest, I can create boards of places I want to travel and one day create content for my site as a foundation of what my future Pin creations will be about. I can research different styles of Skoolie builds and essentials needed for my future build and stories about the process. Once, I had three to four boards started I moved on to Facebook.

Now on Facebook I spent a little time in but with the lack of images I need of me building/traveling in my Skoolie I was stuck trying to figure out where to start. So just to get something on the page, I began with creating an avatar to use as my profile picture place holder. Working my way to adding the small details like hobbies, favorite shows, and books as I really didn't have to think about those too much. All In all I add very little to my Facebook account today but plan to go back each day to try and add little by little till I am ready to use this platform to its full potential.

More to come on my journey of creating a social media presence to grow my online business.

If you have any advice for someone who is new to using social media in a business since please leave a comment below. All advice is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Have A Great Day!

That's my motto in going forward: ripping off the bandage and go forward

It will take some time to be comfortable. Take things at your own pace.

Try at learn at least one platform well before venturing to others.

I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of SM Jackson!

But in order to succeed, we must get out of our comfort zones and do what is necessary!
