So I’m looking at my site speed on the dashboard and it’s awful! I don’t know how to fix it.. I have clicked on the ‘learn more’ part and it recom

You are amazing! Thank you 🙂

You're very welcome.

I am sure you have done the obvious already, but just in case.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites "details" button then scroll down to SiteSpeed+ site speed set to "extreme".

Yes,I done this after I checked the speeds, didn’t change anything though 🤦‍♀️

there are so many parts to site speed that you are better off looking at google pagespeed insights and working down the list ...
you are looking for images that are too large...
you are looknig for poorly coded plugins
or a poorly/ not updated theme...
then going onto minifying the code....
and concatenation.....
but each solution is site specific...
there is a plugin called clearfy suitable for beginners to try
or more advanced is autoptimize and async javascript plugins
then onto a paid solution of wprocket...
but look at the size of your images in the first instance Jess and see if reducing the file size will get you major gains...
if they are large then it maybe worth watching this training let me know how you get on

Thank you so much, I’ll look into this right now. Thanks Phil

I agree with feigner. I'd also like to add that too many plugins can also cause your site to run slower. Try to keep it at a minimum and only install plugins that are necessary for your site. If you can avoid a plugin, then do so.

Also, images - ah yes. Always optimize your images! There are free tools out there such as Canva and TinyPNG. In addition, try to use the right image format (should it be JPG, PNG, or GIF?).

You can use Google's Lighthouse or web dev to run tests on your site and it will tell you what needs improvement and what's dampening your site speed. It's a very valuable tool for EVERY website owner. 🔥

I hope this helps!

Fab! Thank you, I’m going to run that now.

You were right, this is fab!

I'm glad I could help!

I’ve bought a new domain, I would like to transfer another website to it but only keep some of the previous posts. Can this be done? If so how?

Hi

You can use the move feature found within your site manager to move your siterubix subdomain to your dot com, when you are ready. It is a simple process.

You would need wait up to 30 days (Kyle's recommendation) for 301 redirects to be completed and for the search engines. After of which you MAY delete the subdomain however you could keep it for longer if hosting space is not an issue or for testing purposes such as themes, plugins, scripts, coding etc

You can check Kyles training tutorial below

You can edit what posts you want | don't want in the old website before transferring website over or new.

I'd keep a copy of the posts I don't want.

Thank you for replying, can a .com move to a .com?

Absolutely.

You get to choose which sites, as long as they are hosted at WA.

And you're very welcome.

Thank you so much 😊 this is everything I needed

No worries.

Much obliged and best wishes.
