HACK: Use NaNoWriMo to Beef up Your Sites

Last night while out at a local speakeasy, my writing friend Alexis suggested a brilliant idea. Why not use National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), starting once again this November, to crank out tons of articles for my four blogs I've started? Because, you see, I don't have a novel I'm ready to write this year, so I wasn't planning on participating in 2019 NaNoWriMo, though I try to do it every year that I can.

It's just the timing didn't come together this year. Every November, writers all over jump into the goal of writing 50,000 words of a brand-new novel during the month of November. It's a virtual community with virtual write-ins, and the local chapter has physical parties, write-ins and events, as well as our local libraries who sometimes set aside a writing room almost every night of the month, with drinks and snacks. It's an awesome time to actually write that novel.

Alexis is participating and asked if I was going to. No, I told her, I've been focusing on my new YouTube channel, Burrowgroves School of Magic, learning to film and edit all on my phone, etc. I don't have a novel I'm ready to write this November.

"So do you have anything you've been needing to write?"

"Yes, I've started four blogs with Wealthy Affiliate, and I have lots of article ideas, but haven't been writing for them at all lately."

"So why don't you do NaNoWriMo to crank out those articles?"

Wow - why didn't I think of that? So for the whole month of November, Alexis and I are going to evening write-ins and challenges, and I'll set a goal, maybe 30 total articles, one for every night of the month, to publish on my four sites. By December my blogs will be much fuller than they are now. It's a brilliant hack!

NaNoWriMo is a dot org, and it's free to join and fun to do, whether you're writing a novel or lots of blog post articles (though officially, it's for writing 50,000 words of a first-time novel).

Breaking up the equivalent of a novel into several commercial Copywrite pieces is a grand idea JeriLynn!

Hi - I did this a couple of years ago for my one and only "failed" attempt at a novel. That's a good idea to use the challenge for blog posts!
