Guess Who Just Landed an Agent - This Author Can't Stop Dancing
I had to close my small business this past year, all the while working to finish my first novel. Being a writer has been a long dream of mine, running underneath all else like an underground river. I got serious about it and spent a year finishing my novel, then another year editing and revising it. Being part of a local writer's group helped immensely.
I finished it this past June - this Middle Grade Historical Fantasy novel has been in the works, on again and off again, for about ten years!! So I couldn't stop dancing when I finally finished it.
I spent this summer querying it out to many agents. Last year at my local writer's conference, I got to meet and pitch my story idea to an agent from California. She immediately asked for my full manuscript once I got it done - that was an amazing miracle!
A year and a few months later, I finished and sent her the full ms while querying out to many other agents. She had my novel for two months before she was able to get to it - then she emailed me, when only half-way through, to tell me how much she loved it and wanted to offer me representation but was going to finish it first.
Four days later with me on nervous excited tenderhooks, I got the call and she offered representation. YAHOOO!!!
Now I'm starting the exciting process of watching my book go to publication, one step at a time. It's all such a fun learning experience. I have many more book ideas in mind, and she will be my agent for them all.
I can tell you that the Law of Attraction works!!! And now I'm using WA to help me build my author website and online presence. So perfect.

Wow! Congratulations! I am also an author published in 07.
Didn't know how to promote my book so I kind of unfortunately gave up on it. Recently I thought about using WA to try to possibly get it recognized by more.

Yes, even if we don't do any affiliate marketing with our author page, we can use all the tools here to launch a page and write posts to SEO best search words - driving traffic. I think it's totally the way to go. :)
