Back linking each other!
Hello everyone!
So I have been thinking, that we as a community here can take it to all of our advantages in many different ways..one also being to add a back link of another persons website when writing a blog. I know that we all have different niches, but I am sure that everyone will be able to benefit from this!
So I have a website selling wooden watches, so anyone who writes about: fashion, gift ideas, hand crafted things, jewelry, nature and anything else which you could think could relate to it.
What does everyone think- would anyone be up for it?

As long as the link is relevant and not fabricated for the purpose of increasing the popularity of the website....
Then it´s safe to use backlinks for the reason of promoting one another with some information written about that website, rather than adding the link into your blog with nothing else.
Use this post to say what kind of blog you have and if anyone is interested, then they will say. Let´s all get involved :)

Great idea, but there needs to be someone to organize it. Just hope that the other will return the favor is not really working, in my experience....

You couldn´t but the fact that there are other people reading and engaging in here, then it´s a possibility for you to reach out to them too.
Yeah that´s the indefinite side of it, if the person on the other side will keep their promise.
how bout the cute clocks on the wall that have the wagging tale undernealth for the seconds ticking? just a thought.
If you google cat clocks with moving eyes and tails under images it will bring many of them up. They were very popular in the 40s I believe. ;)
I like this idea but agree with networkceo that it has to be done carefully. I'm new to WA so would like to hear other people's opinion and how the best way to go about it would be.
Backlinking is a tricky area to delve into...
Google is getting smarter and can identify when someone is trying to inflate their popularity by implementing backlinks. Unless a site the you are linking to or is linking back to you is about the same niche as yours then the backlinks are scrutinized for there relevance and loose value.
If you have too many low relevance back links then you cross into the territory of "Black Hat" tactics for building popularity and Google will penalize your website in the SERPS.
It's a great idea, but it must be done very carefully and your links should be relevant to your websites content.
Trust me, I learned from my own experience when I had a very popular website get completely removed from Googles Search listings for my "Black hat" linking. It cost me thousands...
That sounds scary! Well I definitely might just not at all do it, if it is so serious as this then. But if you are writing a blog completely on that website or brand- then that would be considered okay, right? I know of a website which basically gives loads of it´s own products out to bloggers and they write a blog about it on their website, reviewing that product. And they are so popular because of that.

Love the idea Jeremiah! I fear you will spend a great deal of time monitoring the process of who is sharing backlinks and who isn't.
