The text that came with my theme is too light. Is there a way to permanently change the text for all future pages/posts? Is there a way to easily change the text on all the old

Thanks for the question. Now I'll know how to change mine.
Dawn

Thanks, Kyle!

This is done directly within your style.css file. We did live training on hope to manipulate your theme fonts through this file (which makes the changes to the entire site).

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/adjusting-the-look-of-your-website-with-css-child-themes

This should definitely help you guys out here.

I've been wondering the same thing.

I am trying to transfer my site for hosting from WA to hostgator.com. They need "FTP host, username, and password for your source account". Does anyone know what this means?

I did get it done. It just took awhile. Hostgator did what they could as I am not super computer savvy especially with that kind of thing. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Congrats, Jen, you are finally all set.

Hi Jen,

This is the message Carson sent me.

"Step 1 is to create a free SiteRubix.com website here:

https://my.wealthyaffilaite.com/websites/build

This site will be used as a temporary site while we move your site over to WA.

Step 2 is to create a hosting support ticket here:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Ask for your website at Hostgator to be copied over to your website that you built above.

IN order for our team to move the site over we will need your FTP details for the site. These details will be provided to you from Hostgator. They will allow us to log into your site to get all of the files we need etc.

Step 3, after the site has been copied over to your siterubix website and all looks OK, you can then point your domain over to WA servers and move your SiteRubix website over to the domain.

IT's a complicate process, but we can help you with it.

Carson"

I would contact Hostgator live help on the Hostgator websie. Usually you need to wait about 30 minutes. Just simply ask for all the above in your question, like what is my FTP etc. and they will give it to you.

I haven't done mine yet, but will do it soon. I hope this helps. Cheers
Linda

I would definitely just transfer the site yourself. However, if your site is a siterubix, i know you can't ftp the information out. The good thing is, you could use the export backup from your WA site then import into your hostgator site. You would then just need the same theme that you used here. Do not delete your WA account until you have it all set up on your new domain.

Ah, I seem to be having the same problem with getting my siterubix website to hostgator. How do you export the backup from the siterubix? I can probably figure out the import, but can't find anything about the backup here?

Am definitely not a Hostgator fan since they were part of the one scam I got snookered into and had the gaul to charge me months after I terminated the affiliation.
I would not give them anything. If they can't transfer with ease as we can to the WA, why should we?

Have used a variety of web hosts in the past. Hostgator is hands down my favorite. The tech guys are available during my hours (usually midnight to 3 am), speak English and know what they are doing. That's far more than I can say for most of the others I tried.

Think we all have tried our share, with variations of experience. So far Namecheap was the easiest transfer to the WA, at the best time, at the time of purchase.
I did fail to add in my last note the instructions to transfer a WP site to another server. http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
And back up the old site before doing anything.
Thank you for your reply Rainey. ^_~

I don't know much about the process, but I agree with Mark about passwords and security. I also agree that Host Gator has a good reputation and should be able to help you, but just be really cautious from a security standpoint.

Jen. Am nervous for you. Crossing my fingers.
Hope you have a good reason for doing it. My mind works to compare the pro and con. Often catch myself before doing something I regret, then have to fix it if I don't, taking more time. ^_~

Hi Jen - I don't wish to scaremonger or anything, but be cautious of giving out any userID and password details for one account, to another person/organisation.

Are HostGator offering to transfer your site to them, if they give you the details?

It may be better to FTP to the WA site yourself, and download the files to your computer. Then you could send them to HostGator.

You would also need to transfer the database from WA to HostGator - again though, I would be wary of providing account information to a 3rd party - just be absolutely sure that you're not giving away any personal usernames or passwords (the ones for WA are generated automatically for FTP etc - but YOU choose your WA username/password - make sure that is not what you give out).

All the best, Mark

Yes, hostgator is offering to transfer the site if I give them the details. Now I am more nervous. Thank you for all the information!

Hi Jen - I'm sorry if I've made you nervous.

HostGator are a reputable host - so are more likely "above board" - but I work in IT (have done for a longgggg time), and security is one of the biggest things on our "be aware" list - I'm not allowed to know my direct reports passwords, and they are not allowed to share them with me. So my note is probably more cautionary than others who may have done what you are doing.

I suppose my only real question would be, what do HostGator offer that WA hosting doesn't (I know they don't offer business training, classrooms etc)? Is it really worth the move?

That may be something valuable to share, as others may be asking the same questions.

For me personally, I wish I'd never signed a 2 year contract with my host, before finding WA and realising they would do FAR more than my current/previous host.

Cheers, Mark

I am going to agree with Mark here. I have not compared hosting prices between the two but WA is fairly cheap to some others I have seen and offers way much more.

Hello Jen,

I do not host any sites here at WA however if you need to move out, I suggest you open a ticket by going to "Build My Website" and then select the "Support tickets" tab and raise a ticket, it seems a fairly simple process, they should be able to provide you with all the details you need.

To Our Success Online,
Jonicas

Thanks I will try that.

Because my niche is marijuana related I can not use

Perhaps check out the Marijuana Business Association (mjba.net). You would be connecting with business people in a 'like-minded' network.
Also LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/company/marijuana-business-association).
Here is a link to the Seattle conference this past March which shows many major publishing affiliations (http://lnkd.in/bDVh2H6).
Think in order to change ignorance we must educate about food drug that heals a multitude of illness and pain. If you need more help, please ask. ^_~

I have tried 4 publisher networks and none will work Can you help

I just finished course 4, level 10. It seems the lessons just stop. Is that correct? What do I do now?

Jennifer,

Yeah so far we have 4 levels. Just just recommend to take back your training and see what you want to do it. Keep writing. :)

Jorge x

Yes, 4 courses in Entrepreneur. Keep writing reader content, keep socializing and reading and sharing in. Look at other social sites. Search or create You Tube videos. Create an infographic. Look at your competition or ask yourself and readers how you can improve you site. If you tweak your site, check later for rating changes. So many things to do to increase your readership and authorship.
If you don't want to do Bootcamp, look at trends and do a quick one pager. Hope this helps. ^_~

What about the Boot camp ? Have you started the 6 phases yet ?

That helps alot. Thank you so much. What is an infographic? Also, how do you check your rating? An, what is a one pager?

Since your rank is fairly high and I'm only starting level 4 training, I presume you have completed the affiliate bootcamp. I'm still trying to do time management for training and other life events.

I am not doing the affiliate boot camp. Not going to try to sell Wealthy Affiliate unless I see some results. Maybe I should start site 2.

Dear JenSmith , Wealthy Affiliate Boot Camp is a valuable course. Even if you do not want to sell WA it is better to do it. Good luck.

idk...you are ahead of me.. following... Nice work!! I working on writing GOOD reviews =)

Try to review a lot of programs.
