Niche niche niche.

This evening so far has been spent entirely on solidifying said niche. Very much and very little progress has been made.
While I haven't done any specific work in regards to developing the idea I fell in love with last night, I have done quite a bit of research, both here and on other sites, regarding not only niches in general, but in defining the difference between niche sites and authority sites.
See, the issue with SuperAwesomeNicheIdea is that it is more of an authority site. Based on what I had learned of and read so far around WA, this posed problems. I was getting the feeling many people have dozens of websites to their name, each one dedicated to a very specific (often particularly profitable) niche. However, that created a problem with my NicheofWin because while it is an idea I fiercely love, I am not so sure of its exact profitability. Or at least, I am skeptical of its early momentum.
I also have no interest in splitting myself a hundred ways. I would much rather dedicate all of my time to one, larger project. (I may have been a druid, but I always spec'd heals!) I am a strong believer in quality over quantity, and I believe my BestIdeaEver has great potential. It just didn't seem to quite fit with what I was understanding as a good idea.
I guess it all depends on how you define 'niche'.
Anyway, after a few hours of research, I am more confident with pursuing my idea. Not only am I seeing more ways in which to work with this idea, but I am seeing it is actually the better route to go in the long run. I will likely need to readjust my financial (and perhaps even non-financial) goals to allow for more build up time. Seeing as how time is of no essence, that is acceptable.
I have about four years, really, to make this work. Plenty of time to reach my goals, I think!

What I haven't realized with my website is that I'm slowly splitting myself in a hundred different directions. While my Niche follows a very profitable and high searched topic, it requires me to promote many different products. Not only does that lead to more product reviews and more work for me, but it also leads to less conversions and less satisfied customers.
