Ever Forward to Internet Business Success-Starts with a Solid Foundation!

A house that is built in the sand CANNOT stand! (idea paraphrased from the Parable of the Foolish Builder, Matt.7: 24-27) This goes for any other building of substance as well! To wit: a successful internet affiliate marketing business cannot stand either when it is built upon a flimsy, substandard website with scant or irrelevant content, lacking authority or substance to its foundation!

Most of us here in Wealthy Affiliate at one time or another have experienced this--a substandard website--I myself, still am!

Usually this occurs when we feel that we must get our websites built quickly and have them up and running--the lure of money causing us to feel the need to get things quickly underway and in place to draw traffic!

It is times like these when we tend to overlook the training--skipping many important parts so we can start earning what we feel like will be a fast buck! Unfortunately, we miss out on very important information laid out in the meticulous OEC training! (This is the blueprint for the SOLID foundation which we neglected to build in our haste).

In turn, because we skip this critical information, not only do we waste a lot of time, but we face incredible indecision when we wake up one morning and are faced with the realization that we are now stalled and are hopelessly lost!

I've noticed that several recent blog posts within the vibrant WA community point to the fact that we must know when to tear down our flimsy house (substandard website) and erect a new one on a strong foundation which we must build!

This is usually accomplished by going back over the training and slowly performing the steps that we missed the first time around!

"Yes, Shadow, I know what you're thinking--why didn't we do this the very first time! I don't need a reminder from you--all I need from you is for you to just sit there and look cute! Do you think that you can handle that? GOOD!"

Now, where was I before Shadow rudely interrupted my train of thought?

Oh yes, I remember now!

Starting over with Kyle's perfectly laid out training, and building a simple website per his instructions verbatim--without worrying about all the bells and whistles or other shiny objects--is the best way to erase our earlier oversights!

Only then will we have any realistic hope of succeeding in this online affiliate marketing world!

This is a business, and for it to work, the blueprints have been handed to us already!

Build a website on a solid foundation--which is what Kyle's training is, and then you can enter into the online world!

While we take the time to do that, FEAR NOT! The internet isn't going anywhere any time soon!

BUILD THE PROPER FOUNDATION BEFORE YOU BUILD THAT MANSION OF A WEBSITE!

Great Post. Think about this; everything has to be on a good foundation, MARRIAGE, BUILDINGS, GOOD HABITS, ALL OCCUPATIONS, LEARNING, RETIREMENTS, ALL BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, ELECTRONICS. WEBSITES, SUPPORT, FRIENDSHIPS, TEACHERS, LAWYER, POLICE, FIREMEN, ROAD BUILDING, etc, etc, etc. The actual first brick or the literal first brick is the most important one that makes everything happen.

Wow. Edward--your response is thought-provoking and so very true! Foundations are extremely important throughout the very fabric of our lives! In all of them, those first bricks are extremely important! If they are not laid properly than everything else will also not work properly!

Great post Jeff (and Shadow🐢)
One of the things I very much appreciate as a newbie here on WA is the advise, reminders and encouragement to follow the training step by step.
I'm enjoying the process so that's very helpful and because of the success stories (all of which are firmly based in following the training) I feel grounded and excited at the same time.

Thanks so much for the post!
Best,
~m

Thank you for the kind sentiments! I know I might sound like a broken record sometimes, but if we hear it often enough, then we can avoid some of the mistakes later on down the road, Mary!

Here's to your ultimate success in WA!

JeffπŸΆπŸΆπŸ‘πŸ‘

It makes sense to go slow building your website as a newbie. This includes writing articles. If mistakes are made, there will be less material to correct saving time.

At the start of ones training in WA I feel it is more important to spend time learning the skills rather than going all out to make money. That is a formula to fail.

You make a great point on learning well and implementing what were taught by Kyle in the OEC correctly to build a strong foundation.

Thanks for this reminder.

Edwin

Thank you very much, Edwin! I felt it was important to put this out there so that others might avoid many of the mistakes that I've made!

JeffπŸΆπŸΆπŸ‘πŸ‘

Very thoughtful of you Jeff. Thanks!
Edwin

I appreciate that, Edwin!πŸ‘
