  • Conversions take longer and require a more nuanced approach.

When starting you are going to experience the majority of the affiliate programs for beginners pay very low commission rates, if you want to earn more, you will need to be sharing higher prices products and services.

Competitive Landscape

  • The affiliate space for high-ticket items is often crowded with established players.
  • Standing out and building brand authority is crucial.

Wealthy Affiliate Members who catch on to how to research for keywords and rank will experience success sooner.

Step-by-Step Keyword Research Plan

I know many of you have read keyword research strategies in many of my other posts, but this is so important, I feel refreshing you with it once again is worth both of our time.

Brainstorming

  • What products or services are you promoting?
  • Jot down relevant terms related to your niche.
  • Imagine what users might be searching for within your niche.
  • Include informational queries besides transactional ones.

Once you can think like your target audience for searching, you are going to see more traffic and sales over time.

Keyword Research Tools

Free options

  • Use search engine suggestions from Google and related searches at the bottom of search result pages to spark ideas.
  • I always check what people are searching for answers for, you can get a jump on your competition by doing this.

Since 2016, I have been using exclusively Jaaxy for my keyword research. What I suggest is you experiment with several tools, then use the one that works the best for you.

Keyword Research with Jaaxy

Here's a step-by-step guide to get you started

Using Jaaxy's Keyword Research Tool

Enter your keyword(s) in the Jaaxy Keyword Research search bar.

  • Choose your target search engine (e.g., Google, Bing).
  • Include question keywords if you want to target informational searches.

Analyze Keyword Information

Avg. Monthly Searches

  • This indicates the estimated average number of searches per month.
  • I am not extra picky about this, I have learned over the years any traffic can provide you with sales.

QSR

  • This shows the estimated competition level based on Jaaxy's analysis. Lower QSR indicates less competition.
  • The lower the competition the better opportunity that you have for ranking.

SEO Page Rank

  • This estimates the ranking difficulty for a specific keyword on a given domain
  • I don't worry about this all that much as well.

You will want to look for keywords under 30 QSR. With a new website when possible, I research until I find QSR under 20 for even better ranking opportunities.

Choosing Your Keywords

  • Look for keywords with a decent Avg. Monthly Searches and a manageable QSR.
  • Consider your niche and competition tolerance when selecting keywords.
  • Explore the "Long Tail Keywords" section below the results for additional long-tail variations related to your keyword(s).
  • Research with the "Alphabet Soup" section.

Once you do this step, you can save your keywords in a list for easy access as you need them.

Keyword Lists

  • Create a list of your chosen keywords.
  • Integrate these keywords strategically into your content to improve search engine ranking and target the right audience.

I save my keyword lists under my website name, but you can name your list anything that works best for you.

Longtail Keywords

  • Identify long-tail keywords - more specific phrases users might search for.
  • These often have lower competition and higher conversion rates.
  • Look for keyword suggestions within your chosen tool.

You might like to try my method to find longtail keywords, what I do is type in a problem my target audience might have and see what Jaaxy tells me. I get more traffic and sales with this method, so give this a try if you want to.

Building a Strong Foundation

Understanding Your Audience

Demographics

  • Typically 35+ (may vary depending on the specific niche)
  • The average income of your target audience
  • Urban or suburban areas
  • College degree or higher

You can refine the demographics according to your niche and your target audience, the more you know your target audience the better you can provide them with solutions to their problems.

Interests

  • Goods and experiences
  • Travel and leisure
  • Personal growth and development
  • Time-saving solutions

Depending on your niche the interests will be different than above, I listed this to give you an example.

Problem-Solving

  • What problems is your target audience looking to solve?
  • Lack of time for research
  • Help to making decisions
  • Information overload
  • Finding trustworthy sources
  • Providing products and services within their price range

The college student will not have the same price range as a businessman, so you need to consider this before doing your product reviews.

Optimizing Your Website

User Experience

  • Maintain a professional and elegant website design. Simplicity and uncluttered layouts are key.
  • Ensure easy navigation for users to find relevant information quickly.
  • A seamless mobile experience is crucial, as more people are often researching and making decisions on their phones.

Product Presentations

  • Use high-resolution images and videos that showcase the value proposition of your promoted products or services.
  • Provide rich and informative descriptions that address the specific needs and problems of your target audience.
  • Showcase testimonials, case studies, and expert reviews to build trust and credibility.

You must gain the confidence of your readers before they are going to buy from you, so this is a very important step in getting more sales.

Calls to Action

  • Create a Call To Action that is specific and action-oriented.
  • Place Call To Action prominently throughout your website, guiding users towards the desired action
  • (e.g., "Schedule a Consultation," "Download Your Free Guide")

By understanding the unique buying habits and optimizing your Wealthy Affiliate website and content accordingly, you can increase your chances of converting them into loyal customers.

Marketing Strategies

Content Marketing for Wealthy Affiliates

  • Creating valuable content that resonates with your target audience.
  • Focus on building trust and authority
  • Educational blog posts, in-depth reviews, and case studies.
  • Leveraging SEO best practices for organic reach.

Email Marketing

  • Building an engaged email list through targeted lead magnets (e-books, exclusive content).
  • Segmenting your audience for personalized email campaigns.
  • Create compelling email copy with a strong focus on providing value.
  • You want to always be writing your content for your target audience
  • Avoid falling into the trap of writing for search engines for ranking.

Final Thoughts

Researching effectively your target audience and keywords is where I would start, you then can learn advanced marketing strategies.

I hope this was helpful

Jeff

Even after a year and a half here at WA I still don't quite understand this. Thanks for the info, it's nice to have everything in one place.
Thanks

Hello Elena

What are you having problems with, maybe I can help you understand things more clearly

Jeff

Thank you, Jeff,
I'm just trying to find the right keywords. Sometimes before I thought I had seen the right keywords, but in fact I haven't. I've already listened to everything you wrote, but I obviously didn't understand it. Now I'm just following what you wrote and I see that it's familiar to me.
If I fail, I call for help. Thank you
Elena

I have a question. If I add a keyword afterwards, can I change the post's title or add it in a subheading? For example, the first subtitle.

Hey Jeff!
Ok, you've got my interest peaked on the research part! I didn't know you could type a problem on what your target audience might have in Jaaxy!
The only thing I have doing for research is looking in Jaaxy for keywords with low QSR and maybe high traffic and using those keywords for the title of my article. I look at what are suggested titles in my to do list of articles, put those keywords in Jaaxy, and look for a better title with the low QSR. Then I use that as the new title of my article. But even though I'm doing that, after the article is written, and I go to my back office after it's posted, I'm getting a message saying on a lot of them that the title is too long, even though I used Jaaxy's suggestions. Is this something I need to worry about? Am I doing it all wrong? Also, it looks like I'm not doing a lot of the research steps when I read this. What do you think? Will appreciate all and any help!
Jena

Hello Jena

You are doing your research with Jaaxy correctly, I focus on competition QSR fewer than 20 for my first 50 posts for better ranking.

After that, I will consider QSR 30 and less.

Here is what I found out researching your questions about long titles

You don't necessarily need to worry about it in terms of directly hurting your search ranking, but long titles can be cut off in search results.

Google doesn't have a character limit for titles.

However, they typically show only the first 60 characters in search results. If your title is longer, it gets cut off

What I like to do with long titles

What I like to do is not include my website name in the meta tag section SEO which will shorten your title.

Once you publish your article, you can edit the title to be shorter as long as you don't change it in your URL.

I hope this helps
Jeff

Ok, thanks Jeff. I'll have to look at it some more.
I have the Jaaxy Lite, if that makes a difference in the search.
Jena

Hello Jena

I hope you are doing well today, Jaazy Lite is fine that is what I am using also.

Today I created all of my pages on Dad-Ventures, I think I am ready to start the training now.

Jeff

Are you talking about starting with the Core training or something else?

Hello Jena

I am talking about the new HUBs training, there might be something new that I am not familiar with

Jeff

Great recap, Jeff! And a few additional things to think of.

Thanks for the info!
