It was only a matter of time, of course.

ChatGPT is switching to a freemium model. An announcement on SocialMediaToday by Andrew Hutchinson shared the news.

The new paid tier will be priced at $20/month which gives paid users better access to the tool:

- General access to ChatGPT, even during peak times

- Faster response times

- Priority access to new features and improvements.

Sure, one version will still be free, but responses could be delayed and there could be outages, warns OpenAI.

ChatGPT can produce a tremendous amount of content, but it’s also been proven to plagiarize, share misinformation, and not always be neutral on controversial topics.

While we still don’t know whether Google will penalize sites for using bot-produced content, we do know that even ChatGPT’s owner, OpenAI, is developing new tools to detect ChatGPT outputs. There’s no doubt Google is doing the same as well. Also unresolved is the legality of using AI-generated content.

Whether you use ChatGPT just as an information resource or instead use it to generate content, either way it’s gonna cost you!

Thanks for the updates on AI details.
From what I am gleaning from all of the AI, ChatGPT, OpenAI information,
the key is to figure out and master the "prompt Engineering."

Kyle is really breaking it down masterfully.
So, our job is to take it in and run with it.
Looks like its purpose is not to confuse us, but
its job is to do the heavy lifting and ultimately,
make life easier.

Social media is helpful in many ways. At the same time, it
is accused of damaging our youth. So, who is responsible?
So, do we do away with its benefits or find ways to keep it safe for all?

Either way, keeping humans safe is the overall concern.
Just my 2 cents.

p.s. We need to find out why Elon is so determined to STOP it!
This is a double-headed sword. He was one of the one's who created it, right?

Not stop it forever, but stop it until it's understood and there are guidelines. It's already causing so much damage to our world.

Exactly.

Seems like there is an AI dichotomy going on Jeannine:
Can't live with it versus Can't live without it.
Let's take a vote. (lol)

Hello Jeannine,

Thank you for your blog post, it's appreciated.

I have heard quite a bit about AI over the last few months; there has been quite a bit of talk on Wealthy Affiliate about the subject. I also wrote a post on the subject, even though I don't know much about it!

I think, for the time being, I will keep to the traditional methods of writing content. I did test an AI tool out, however, for anything slightly technical, it wrote complete rubbish that did not resemble the subject at all. I have been told by an accurate source that Google can detect content written by an AI. I think AI probably has a long way to go yet!

Have a great weekend.

Roy

I think that's great that you tried it and saw just what it can't do! One more verification that it isn't the panacea so many people are hoping for. Do the work! Get the rewards!

Thank you for your reply, Jeannine; it's appreciated.

I know people are saying that it AI can be good, but I see more downsides for people like me than good things! There are no shortcuts, as you mention, we have to do the work and reap the rewards!

Have a great week.

Roy

I just found this on another forum, and I thought it made an excellent point.

"AI cannot create new knowledge and it relies on facts and source material to learn. Be in the "fact layer" and you'll have relevance. This means adding new knowledge to the internet, rather than spinning what's already out there."

Add new knowledge.

I love that!

Thank you for sharing Jeannine I knew this would happen eventually. I'm surprised but happy how low the price is. I have tried ChatGPT myself and will stick to the free version for now. But when I have more money I will purchase the paid $20 per month version.

ChatGPT is a great tool but needs to be used the right way and for the right purposes. Thank you again for sharing this great blog post Jeannine. All the best to your success.

I'm very glad you found this helpful. You are talking about doing exactly what I hoped would happen. You've tested it and decided it is worth the cost. Well done!

Thank you Jeannine

I think it's a low price for what it offers. Jasper charges $59/mo and has a 50,000-word limit.

AI tools are essential nowadays as your competitors will certainly be using them to write better content much faster.

We should use it smartly, as none of us want to be penalized by Google.

As a non-English speaker, I always use it to sharpen sentences that look awkward and give me ideas.

I don't know what the future holds for blogging, but I will try to make the best out of it while the audience lasts. :)

Just remember to double check everything all the time. I wouldn't always trust it for grammar; use the free version of Grammarly instead!
