I’m honored to be speaking later this month at the Affiliate Summit West conference in Las Vegas. I’m actually leading one panel and participating in a second one.

The next Affiliate Summit takes place Jan. 23-25 in Las Vegas. About 5,000 people from all aspects of the business attend. This includes all the major and many of the smaller networks, advertisers, agencies (who manage affiliate programs), technology vendors and more.

Both of my sessions are on Tuesday, Jan 24th.

First, I’m leading the panel entitled “Play Your Best Hand: 6 Tips for Winning in Affiliate Marketing”. My fellow panelists include Mike Allen, owner of the Businesswright agency. Mike was previously a full-time affiliate and won the prestigious Pinnacle Award from Affiliate Summit as Affiliate of the Year. Our other panelist is John LoBrutto, Head of Affiliate Marketing at GetResponse.com. I know many WA members use GetResponse for their email services.

Our topic is the basics of affiliate marketing – choosing the right merchants, optimizing conversion, leveraging the best tools to help your site grow, etc. We’ve spoken together several times before, so I know we’ll have a lively, informative discussion.

Later that day, I’m representing Awin and ShareASale on a panel discussing “The $9 Billion Report: Insights from the PMA’s US Industry Survey.” (The PMA is the Performance Marketing Association, the industry association for affiliate marketing in the US. I’m on the Board of Directors.) Tricia Mayer, Executive Director of the PMA, will lead the discussion.

We’ve got an excellent panel here:

  • Debbi Dougherty, Rakuten
  • Sandrine Thompson, CJ
  • Choots Humphries, LinkConnector
  • Charlie Calabrese, Partnerize

The PMA sponsored a survey which collected information about the industry from all the top networks which shows that:

  • Total industry annual spending exceeded $9 Billion, an increase of 47% over the 2018 estimate of $6.2 billion.
  • Each dollar investment in affiliate marketing drove $12 in e-commerce contributions
  • Content publishers (what we’re learning at WA) captured 15% of the market share

You can get a free copy of the Survey here.

If you are attending ASW23, please reach out so we can meet! Awin and ShareASale are the global sponsors of the event, and are also hosting the Coffee Lounge, so I’ll be glad to buy you a latte!

See you in Vegas!

I have yet to go to Vegas. It's nice to see everyone is back into circulation post Covid- be careful not to get COVID-19. I would be leery of large crowds, given my bad immune system and living with MS. I wish you the best at that conference. Stay safe.

Yes, this is actually at least the third Summit I've attended since Covid. They are good about providing hand sanitizer and other steps to keep everyone as safe as possible. It's also my 3rd time to Vegas since October. I'm fortunate to be safe to attend. Sorry that you're still challenged; I hope that improves soon for you. Thank you for your kind wishes.

Wow! Sounds like an amazing event that will be fun and inspiring!

It is so much fun! This will actually be my 36th consecutive Affiliate Summit. The event is worth it!

Your enthusiasm is so inspiring to me! Which is so helpful in my journey. To see and hear about others sharing and learning about this business. I’ll keep pressing on and hope one day to be a part of it!

Just stay determined to succeed and keep working on it each day, if only for 15 minutes, and you'll get there!

Hi Jeannine,
great news!
I have no doubt it will be a great speech.

Slavka 🖐️

I promise to do my best! This is my favorite industry in the world!

Go ahead!

That's awesome Jeannine. Is there a cost to this Summit?

Yes, the lowest pass is $499. That covers all three days of sessions plus the exhibit hall.

Wow!. You have to pay that as well?

Actually ASW gives me a free pass as a speaker. They've always been wonderful that way.

Most conferences will give a free pass to a speaker, but there are a couple where I'd have to buy a ticket for the privilege of speaking to their audience!

I wasn't being nosey :)
I've asked because I've just been invited to speak at an International Women's conference in Paris in March.
And I did not know that you had to pay to speak at any event.
Now I do.

That's very exciting!

Usually you have to pay your own travel expenses, but the pass is free. Please tell us more about the event!

I have the option of going in person or virtual. I've not accepted it as yet because I was astonished that I still had to pay if I choose to be a virtual speaker.
It's about Womens Empowerment

Really make sure that you will gain value from being a speaker there, then. Sometimes there are conferences created just to generate revenue; I'm suspicious about the ones that want me to pay to speak. There's only one I have ever accepted.

What will you gain from speaking at this event?
Is this the first time the event has been held?
Who else has been announced as a speaker?
Is this something you want for your resume?
Hopefully the virtual ticket is much less than the live ticket, but how will they promote your session then broadcast it?

Glad I've asked you. These are really great questions that I will definitely asked
Didn't think if these before.
Will surely do before I give my response
Thank you, Jeannine
