Beware the Info from AI and Chat GPT
You don’t truly know the sources that Chat GPT and AI use to gather information. Neither always get things right. Sometimes things are horribly wrong.
Now a UCLA professor is in trouble for quoting information provided by Chat GPT accusing another professor of a claim of sexual harassment during a trip while the second was a faculty member of another institution.
In truth, the trip never took place and the professor was never a member of that institution’s faculty. No claim was ever made.
Chat GPT got it very wrong. The first professor never bothered to confirm the information.
The falsely accused professor is now considering a defamation lawsuit.
For the WA minions who proclaim the wonders of Chat GPT and how it’s making their lives so much easier, I suggest keeping a good lawyer on retainer!

I think we need to be exceptionally careful with AI software; it may have some advantages, but, I can see it being used for the wrong things.
It's interesting that Elon Musk wants to actually stop or slow down AI; he obviously knows that something is not right. The fact is that good information can gradually become watered down as AI software is used more and more.
There have been many posts on this platform about AI, some people saying it's fine to use it to write with. My Webmaster, who is fairly clued up, said don't use it; Google will find your AI posts!

I agree, I think we are racing to embrace something which still reflects the humans which program it. For example, it's already been shown that there is bias in results from some sources.
I agree with that, Jeannine! I have worked with my Webmaster for around 14 years; he seems to see what others can't see! I don't say this about many people, but he is rarely wrong!
I have seen some examples of very biased results, this is where software can be used for evil rather than good! Some of the deeper things that AI is going towards, we shouldn't even be touching!

This is a slippery slope.
One women is claiming that her husband took his life
because he had a close relationship with a Chatbot that
went south. The wife is now suing for wrongful death
which was a suicide.
We all have to know the ramifications of deep learning
methods. Human as the easiest people to tame.

I'm appalled at this sharing on several levels.
I knew the AI gets things wrong, but this is an extreme life changing example of it being wrong.
I have to wonder on the other side of the coin what enmity must have existed for the professor to run with such a charged accusation without at least fact checking. Such a damaging charge is life changing, with those falsely accused often never regaining their lives as well as when they do, it harms all real claims of it.
I do hope the university takes a sober look if this professor is really the type of person they wish shaping the minds of our young adults.

The original professor had an agenda and this content fit within his goals. That's all he needed. If it wasn't for the lawsuit, there would have been no consequences at all. That's the sad state of our world right now.
Hi Jeannine, I am not too surprised to see this. Students are banned in some schools from using it. I am sorry that people do not use their common sense. It's too bad that things like this happens. I expected there would be a lot of fallouts from using ChatGPT. We must always verify and double-check our facts before publishing this false information.

I know this is from a while back, but "WA minions", really? :) Come on Jeannine, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I don't consider Kyle or Jay or myself a minion, right? lol And yes, this tool has, in fact, made my life muchhh easier.
Like any tool, using it correctly is the key. The training here from Jay and Kyle and others shows just how powerful and valuable a tool ChatGPT is for efficiency and for building our businesses.
Yes you can use it incorrectly, just like you can use the internet itself for all kinds of nefarious reasons, but that doesn't stop us from building our businesses using the internet for good, right?
I think Jay's latest class on using ChatGPT for article writing ranks up there for me as one of the best expert classes I've watched, EVER. And (spoiler alert) WA's going to be overflowing with expert classes on how to use AI correctly for our businesses very soon.
It's a great and exciting time to be involved in the internet world. I'm excited for more and more advancements and I love hearing members sharing how they've used this tool to explode their productivity. :)
Think beyond affiliate marke ting. How are you going to know if a photo is real or AI? You won't. Word selection is critical; changing one word can change a whole attitude on a topic. Will you always be able to recognize that in the race to produce more and more content? No. Many people won't even care. If AI tells them something, they'll believe it whole-heartedly.
In this example, AI literally scolded someone for having a different opinion. AI has never been in a swimming pool but told a world class athlete how to compete. How would you feel if AI told you that all of your strategies to succeed online were incorrect? That you should be using a totally different method? That your previous success didn't really amount to anything? That's the story here.

Jeannine, you're making a whole separate argument here. I'm talking about how a hammer can be a great tool for driving a nail and you're talking about the potential of a kidnapper using a hammer to take someone's child.
The reason I'm referencing affiliate marketing is because that's exactly the context we're using when we talk about about value of this tool.
Yes, there are plenty of bad things all over the internet. We don't shut down our businesses because of it, right? Let's focus on the massive benefits. Using AI the way we've been trained right here at WA lets us know how to train the tool to be used as an extension of ourself.

I have the ability to look from a global perspective instead of a narrow perspective. The rush to claim massive benefits blinds many to the downside of it all. But by all means, embrace it, turn your whole life over to it, let it control every aspect. Go for it.
