I'm the thing that lurks at night,

I live beneath your bed.

I get into your dreams,

I invade your head.

I'm that little whisper,

That single shred of doubt.

Just when you think you'll make it,

I make you go without.

I am the thing you focus on,

The thing you'd like to kill.

I try your every effort,

To make you do my will.

I've stopped many in their tracks,

In races they should win.

I'm the thing that holds you back,

When you think you should begin.

Just that tiny shred of doubt,

That hides within your mind.

I am you, but deadly,

I'll crush the hope you find.

Do not seek for better,

You will always hear me say.

Better is for winners,

Today is not your day.

So in the middle of writers block I decided to shift my focus. Poetry has always been my saving grace. Poetry is where I turn when the world much darker than I remember. I hope you all enjoy.

Good Poem, but a little too close to home for my life. As this is an actual person that I am forced to deal with and have been forced to deal with my entire life. I can't escape that person, and I'll have to live with them till the end of my days.

This poem isn't in the book. The book is made of writings I've never posted anywhere else. I wanted to give people that read it something completely unique and new from me
