Have You Ever Felt Overwhelmed?

Of course you have... I don't think anyone can answer "NO" to that question, especially if they've spent any time trying to build a business.

There are so many pieces to building a business, aren't there... you need to come up with the IDEA first of all: what are you going to do?

Will you sell something? A physical product... or your services in some capacity... or somebody else's product or services?

We're all here in WA because we've chosen the last option... selling someone else's products or services. OK - so that's a good start.

But still... WHAT will I sell?

That was the question going through my head as I started the training. Finding my niche, picking my keywords, writing that keyword-rich post (which is still to come, by the way...)

I know what I want to focus on, but I'm struggling with how to fit it into WA. So maybe I'll pick a couple of OTHER things to focus on too... things that are easier to promote and talk about.

But am I being true to myself then?

I've been looking at a lot of member sites... every one is different, of course. That's what I love about entrepreneurs: we all reach out to help each other, and we still carry with us our own special flair.

I'm really stuck on the "content" piece. I've gone through the training and I KNOW (deep down) that I just have to pick stuff that interests me and write my own opinions and somehow - through the miracle of the internet - the right people will eventually find me.

But that gremlin inside my head keeps saying "Nobody's interested in what interests you!"

And it seems to be true. When I look at other sites, checking out what various members have done, there is nothing related to what I want to talk about...what I'm building my own business around.

So when I'm chasing the elusive keywords, I'm not getting a lot of traction. Maybe it's time to find a new topic.

Instead, what I do is chase another Shiny Object...

I start another project. Now I've got other things to focus on, so I don't think about keywords and posts and figuring out my website SEO.

Task-Avoidance at its best...

This is where the overwhelm starts to kick in.

There are so many different projects on my list... all started but going nowhere.

I know all the productivity tricks and practices. I can recite them in my sleep - when I actually get to sleep...

#1 is to focus on one topic/task at a time. Multi-tasking is just a misnomer for "ineffective time management". And I know that the focus should be on the tasks that are going to lead to bringing income to me... at least most of the time.

I think I've found my strong suit... and it's "making lists". I'm great at setting up To-Do lists and sorting out what needs to be done.

Now it's time to sit down and actually do it.

Jacquie I think the balance about choosing a niche is to choose something that you're passionate about enough to want to write about.

You can either write what your gut feeling is telling you about the topic, that is write what you know, and then either Google for added inspiration or words OR

You can put in those keywords into Jaaxy and click analysis. This will in turn bring up websites with those keywords or phrases.

You could then have a look on the competitor's website for more ideas or just to see what their content is all about

Using Jaaxy also gives several different ideas for topics, such as Quora, answer the public and of course Google

If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can just step away for a bit and reflect and ask yourself the question why you joined in the first place

I know you probably know all what I've said above, but I was just trying to inspire you a bit
I really hope anything or something that I stated helps a bit

Hey Simone,
Thanks for the encouragement...yeah, I know all that stuff, but it's good to hear it again.

Never a dull moment, that is for sure, Jacquie! I would rather feel overwhelmed than bored; however!

Jeff😎

Most definitely, Jeff! Thanks for reading :-)

You're very welcome, Jacquie! Merry Christmas!
