Now I can see the importance of having an online business.

A time like this makes me realize the importance of having a business online. The corona crisis really teaches all of us a lesson about how quickly our lives can get disrupted. For better or worse, our livelihood, our lifestyle and our way of doing business can really take a sudden turn for the worse.

Who would have thought that a bottle of hand sanitizer would cost as much as $800 online or a bottle of alcohol cost $8 to $10 only if you can find them? The pandemic caused people to panic and there goes scarcity. The supplies cannot meet the demands so price gouging is inevitable. Because basic needs are becoming luxuries, the potential of exploitation is unavoidable. Every government official, schools and various businesses encourage people to do business online. By shutting down activities that require public gathering, people are forced to use the internet in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

The downside of closing school, work from home approach can really impact our daily activities. So many things we used to take for granted are becoming necessities. A lot of elderly people would not go out because they think that corona is some kind of serial killer out there looking to kill all of them. There are rumors running around that corona does not affect certain races because of skin color and skin texture. People are reacted by emotion, fear and ignorance.

By watching the manifesto of this pandemic, where countries of 60 million people have completely shut down, that should tell us something on how fragile and vulnerable we are. The heads of various government, health care workers are among the casualties of the disease. It tells me this disease does not discriminate. It does not matter what your social status, creed, religion or race is. Covid 19 shows us that money does not wipe away stupidity. This is not a hoax, it is a reality, our world has been turning upside down. We have to reevaluate the way we conduct business from now on.

Empty grocery stores throughout America indicate how people in the modern world adapt to a new reality. The challenges to the supplies chain, the distribution centers are all affected because we put too many eggs in one basket. We rely too much on others to do things for us. One example, my father's eyes medication has already gone up 300% copay and he has to wait perhaps a month for it because the manufacture is located overseas. Most stores that have their presence online advocate for people to purchase online and pick up in the store. The need to have an online business is really important.

Because of social distancing and the shutdown of many facilities, an online business is a gold mine. The need to sell the right products on the internet is proven to be ideal business. My observation is to sell things that people need instead of want. Just think about how popular remote learning has become. Imagine if you have an elearning software course online, a website that sells stuff on demand right now. Money would probably be pouring in every direction.

However, we should always practice morality and remember the golden rule, don't do evil to others otherwise it will follow you. I am not trying to profit in times of crisis but smart scientists say that when things evolve we have to be able to react to it. Please everyone educate yourself, practice hygiene, wash your hands frequently with soap, aloe vera, water and use alcohol. Few other great germ killers are hydrogen peroxide, Lysol and Clorox. This hydrogen is good for mouth wash, cuts and bruises too. I think it is a better alternative than purel. Just a couple weeks ago I heard on the news that the government was calling the hand sanitizer companies to remove the slogan of the kill bacteria logo on the packaging otherwise they would get a fine.
