There should be a way to capitalize on this traffic, but I don't know enough about Pinterest.

Pinterest has recently been cracking down on affiliate links, so I would avoid putting links directly in pinterest. Two ideas for you!

1. Use a watermark with your pinned images (if you own them). If not, do not watermark them.

2. Put your website URL in your profile (if there is one, I'm not an expert), OR have your website URL somewhere visible.

Traffic from pinterest isn't necessarily quality traffic, so you need to look at what pictures people are repinning, and if it's related to your niche. Would they enjoy the type of content you produce on your website?

I would make your focus on getting folks from pinterest to your website rather than monetizing pinterest specifically.

Nathaniell,
I link up all of my images from my niche site as they relate to specialty food and drink (specifically kombucha and sourdough bread). Repinning causes more links to my site, and consequently drives traffic. I don't put affiliate links into a pin - EVER. For me, I am more about driving relevant traffic to my website, who might then look through the site and ultimately click on affiliate links. I monetize in a few ways, through affiliate links, but will ultimately have an education component on my site as well. (Online training packages).
With Pinterest, people who are interested in learning how to brew their own kombucha or make their own sourdough bread, will ultimately find me!
Joy, is this for the shipping site? S

Thanks for your replies Nathaniell and Sarah. Actually this particular pin is just a cute dolphin picture I repinned from somewhere and it has gone crazy - talk about viral!! So I don't own it and can't claim it, but every day there are a ton of repins coming through and I'm at a loss for how to utilize this traffic.

If you repinned it from somewhere, it is likely linked to another website. Whats your name on Pinterest? I'll follow you ;)

I'll let the pro take over from here :) I don't have much experience on Pinterest, so am happy to have someone with more to say about it comment.

Thanks Nathaniell

Hey Joy, there absolutely is! If you are getting repins, you should ensure that each pin is linked to your website where you are looking to drive traffic. There is some great training on this here, I will find. As well, if you type "Pinterest" in the search bar at the top of WA, you will find lots of other references to it! Keep at it! Sarah

Sorry for the delay. I realized I had the wrong website on my Pinterest profile and then had problems verifying the other. All set now - I'm Joy Miles on Pinterest.
