Time to get going again
For the first half of this month I was plagued by an issue with google. I moved my website to a new domain and google would not allow me to verify the address change with them due to a technical error. Google would not allow me to submit a sitemap and all of my URLs were no longer indexed. This was very difficult for me, and I felt like it was threatening my entire business. I could not find any information to deal with it because no one else seemed to have had a similar problem. My google rankings were in a free fall.
I did continue to follow my content schedule, but I found that I was not motivated to do anything else because I was so down on it.
Eventually, I figured out the problem and it was really stupid, and it sucks that it consumed so much of my time and my mindset. As it turns out, in order to change your domain with google you have to verify ownership of both versions of your domain (www.domain.com and domain.com). I was under the impression that it was because I did not verify the old domain, so I tried a million different ways to verify it lol. The moral of the story is, make sure you put both versions of your domain on google webmaster tools, and also make sure you read error messages very carefully.
Anyways, things have really improved since I fixed the problem last thursday. The pages and posts are indexed again, the terms I was ranked under have not only come back but have gone up, and I am ranked under 40 new search queries. So everything turned out okay. I even got a backlink from some forum that is written in serbian that is actually bringing in traffic.
This business is definitely about grinding through obstacles, and this is my biggest one so far, even though it turned out to be something very simple and stupid. I am glad I didn't give up or start over (for the second time no less). It is time for me to get back to work, I have already lost most of the day dealing with my car.

Yup, we all hit obstacles, but the important thing to do is work through them, and overcome them
Thanks for sharing. There alot of bumps in the road, but approaching them as bumps, rather than mountains, is how we continue on.
