We had a very busy week-end, up grading our computer. It is much faster than the dinosaur I was previously using. My husband went online and did a speed test this morning. The download speed was 2.68 Mbps and the upload speed was 28.7 Mbps. If anyone would like to take a minute or so to test their speed, you might try:

Some of these are completely free and some have other requirements.

We all want the fastest computer to facilitate our work and increase our website success. What are some of the factors that affect speed and performance? Listed are a couple of websites that delve into things like RAM, system clock, and bus:

. I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer among other things and My business is answering these types of questions. First of all your upload and download speeds is more of a factor of your router ISP modem and network card. And almost nothing to do with your CPU.. your motherboard CPU class and memory affect your computational speed. doing something stupid like buying the biggest processor that you cand find is almost NEVER the smartest thing. The big processors will overheat and throttle themselves down. You have to match the components for optimal performance.
