I solation?
I don’t know if this happens to anyone else but i find that the more I look at other websites the harder it is for me to come up with original content because my mind is full of the stuff I’ve seen elsewhere, and I don't want to be accused of knocking off someone else’s idea
It’s like that song you hear first thing in the morning that gets stuck inside your head and you can’t get rid of it - aaaarrgghhh!
Well I came up with a little strategy that seems to be working... whenever I have content writing to do (as I do now because my tutorial says its time) - I tackle it first thing in the morning without looking at anything else... before I begin the tutorial, before looking at comments, before responding to anyone... my mind is fresh (sort of), uncluttered and sometimes brimming with ideas.
So far it seems to be working... if you have any other suggestions feel free to mention in the comment section - let me know how you work around it if indeed it’s a challenge for you.
Wishing massive success to all!
Jazz

What I do, especially if it involves any research, is throw all the main ideas into a word file. So if I am doing research on camera specifications or uses or something I will put all the per tenant info all in one place.
From then I like to try to organize it in a way so that there will be some sort of flow before fleshing out the main ideas and doing the heavy writing.
If I just start writing about a subject with no outline then my mind and writing will tend to wander and I may not go where I originally was intending to go. This is not always a bad thing. That said with a rough outline I can be mode focused with my writing.
That and I just do my best to write in my own words in a very conversational tone. My niche is about gopro cameras but ideally I want to talk to people who don't have the camera yet and are looking to buy. If I get too technical the. It is only going to scare people away.
When it comes to content you have to find the line between authority and having a conversational tone. If your writing in your own voice and perspective then you will have no problem with coming up with content
Excellent advice! when I’m focusing on my niche idea I tend to do the same i.e. flesh out the idea before I begin writing... I guess as you say that’s because i’m more familiar with the subject.
My problem seems to arise most often when writing content for the affiliate marketing for WA. Probably because this is new territory of for me...
Although I write professionally I am fast finding out that this type of writing is different... I think the most important thing as you say s striking that chord between conversation and authority... I’m working on it :)
Thanks for the great feedback and suggestions - its much appreciated!

Hi Jazz, I recognize what you mean but it's not about copying someone else's content. If you find that a competitor is writing content that is very popular then write even better content around the same topic. From a different perspective, write a more up to date version or write a much more comprehensive version. According to me you don't have to think up all the ideas. My suggestion.
Cheers, Desmond
Hi Desmond - You are right of course... there is no need to always recreate the wheel.
I am slowly learning how to peel away the info I need without being a total copycat. Phew this is not as easy as it looks. I just keep remembering the Dory motto from Finding Nemo “just keep swimming, just keep swimming” :)
