Gratefulness

Due to Circuit Breaker in Singapore, I have to stay at home for most of the time. Although I am working in F&B, Bubble Tea store is under non-essential categories. Just like other non-essential industries, I couldn't go to my workplace. The worst is that I can't work from home.

This pandemic has changed our lifestyle and seized our freedom at some point. But I am not here to add negativity. It doesn't help.

Conversely, I choose to be grateful. We don't wish for bad things but we can't control it sometimes or may be most of the time.

Take a look what I have now.

Firstly, I am healthy. Strict measurements had been carried out by government. Government has done the best part. The rest of us has to is being social responsible and appreciate the hard work of front line medical staffs. They have devoted themselves to save a lot of lives. Good people are always doing their jobs unconditionally.

My employer chose to maintain his business and he is still paying us salary. We are looking forward to resuming working as usual. With that, I don't have to worry about living expenses. I don't have to be desperate to get a new job. Unemployment is the latest issue come after the pandemic especially hospitality and F&B. Really thankful that my employer is working hard to get their staff financial secured. The government is doing the part of helping business owners too.

Living in technology era is our privilege. Family and friends are the people who support us to go through difficulties. We won't feel lonely to fight Covid-19. Not seeing each other in person is bad. At least, we have Whatsapp, Zoom and many other online interaction options. Human connection is precious.

Apparently, the planet needs a break. I can see the sky outside of my window become clearer now. Probably it is because I don't have time for it before. Who cares? I have time to appreciate the nature now. I can observe the colour of the sky fading from blue and white to pink and orange and to dark blue. How wonderful is the nature. Maybe it is time to slow down now. It is time to clear out my mind now. It is time for me to help others now.

I am inspired by this article on WA:

Great quote by Lenka. Yes, the circumstances are beyond our control and while it affect many, we should be grateful and take action to plan. Hopefully, thing will change soon for the better. Keep the faith!

Hi Jaysie,

Troublesome times looks like you have some challenges, your great attitude will open many doors and gratitude can be the best bridge builder that there is.

Alex

I'm glad you're too happy. I love when people are happy. We should always help each other when it's hardest. May happiness follow you and I wish you work even more!
