Thesis users past and present, need your advice
So... years ago I built websites for people, family and friends. I got away from it for a few years till I joined here. Back in 2009 or so I dumped Joomla and got on the Wordpress train... I bought the Thesis theme, since it was all the rage, and I liked it, and used it for many websites. My website building interest waned, and my flaky customers abandoned their websites as well. And I pretty much moved to other interests.
In the interim, between then and now, I kept up to date somewhat by reading about the rise of Genesis and the much troubled release of Thesis 2. I read about folks dumping Thesis and migrating over to Genesis with happy results.
I didn't remember what level I bought in at Thesis, so yesterday I went to Diythemes and reset my password (since it had been so long!). I logged in and found out I had bought the Professional/developer package. I'm entitled to the latest and greatest Thesis 2.4.x., and all future updates and upgrades, unless Pearson goes crazy again.
My dilemma. Everything I'm reading is in the favor of Genesis...and I have absolutely no problem investing in Genesis. But I do have access to Thesis right now, and have no problem taking some time to learn it... (and trying to find out where I can get all these "boxes" and "skins" that are hard to locate on diythemes' website)
I guess I'd just like to hear some opinions from folks here that have experience.. good or bad... on the current level of Thesis vs Genesis. Would it be detrimental to the course here at WA, is so much as... would it be easier to go with Genesis?
I guess my point is that .. the majority of the internet is beating up on the Thesis 2.0, for very good reasons... since it is now 2.4.x, is it usable and effective to use in training and my websites on WA?

Hi, all the best with your online endeavour.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Are you using Thesis?
No, I'm not.
